What are Noncredit Courses at Mount Wachusett Community College? Noncredit courses provide educational, social, cultural, and vocational programs to adults and children. MWCC strives to provide high-quality classes at reasonable costs. GED Testing Registration

Registration must be done in person. The full test fee of $65 must be paid at the time of registration. Cash, check, money order, or vouchers may be used for payment. Testing fees are nonrefundable.* *Students who fail to show up for their scheduled exam will be charged $25 for each test they miss.

Age Requirements

Students must be at least sixteen years of age to register. Students under age eighteen must provide a letter from the last school they attended. They must also have a parent or guardian sign a verification of eligibility form.

Adult Basic Education & GED Preparation

The Regional Adult Education Center at MWCC offers Adult Basic Education (ABE), GED preparation, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Classes are free of charge through funding from the Massachusetts Department of Education, Employment Links, and the Robinson Broadhurst Foundation. Day and evening classes are available on an open-entry basis at four convenient locations. For more information please call:

Proper ID is required: either a current driver’s license or government photo ID. All registrations for re-test must also be in person. The fee for re-tests is $15 each; this fee is also non-refundable. The test is available in English and Spanish on a limited basis. A large print version is also available in English. Students must request the large print version in advance. Limited copies are available. Persons with a disability who may require accommodations to participate in a fair testing session should contact the GED chief examiner at (978) 630-9173 to determine eligibility. Wouldn’t it be great to have your friends playing a video game that YOU created? Show off your imagination and creativity! Video game making is no longer just for computer programmers. Kids of all ages are learning to use fun and easy software to build their own games. You will first create a storyboard and animations and will then take those animations and use them to create your video games! Students will receive a book with software (PC) that you can take home with you. Refund Policy Prior to first class meeting: 100% refund. After first class: no refund. Senior Citizen Fee Reduction Senior citizens, 60 and over, eligible for a tuition/fee discount may register, on a space-available basis, one week prior to start of a noncredit course. The fee for that course will be reduced by 50%. The remaining 50% is to be paid at the time of registration. Online courses are not eligible for a reduction of fees. No Course Confirmations We don’t send written confirmations, but we’ll call you if there are any course changes or cancelations you should know about.

Children will be picked up at 8:50 a.m. by a program assistant and walked directly to the main building. The assistant will walk participants back to the fitness center at 3:00 p.m. There is no extended care for half day programs that end before 3:00 p.m. No extended care for Theatre Bug or one day photo workshops.

Preferred Trainer Status has been awarded to MWCC for grant awards due to our non-profit status, further magnified by MWCCs 40+ years of excellent training services for area businesses.

Training Grants Available

General Fund Training Grant: Provides training grants, ranging from $2,000 to $250,000 (under some circumstances up to $1 million) to employers, employer groups and labor organizations. Grant applications are due the first business day of every other month (January-March-May-July-SeptemberNovember). $15,000 Express Grant: $2,000 to $15,000 available for training for companies with a maximum of 50 employees. Easy grant application can be completed anytime and most grant award decisions are made within 21 days.

Designed for the teen who wants to create work for a portfolio, or is seriously interested in the visual arts. Basic drawing and painting concepts will be introduced. Clay, plaster and mixed media will be used in creating sculptures inspired by traditional and contemporary works of art. Individual expression will be encouraged as students investigate a range of subject matter and explore new media. Students are encouraged to bring a bag lunch (snack & soda machines are available). An introduction to the wonderful world of theatre for the very young student. The program combines theatre games, pantomime, music, dance and creative play. Photographing Your Children

Students are encouraged to bring their digital camera to class to learn the art of capturing children of all ages in photos that will bring a lifetime of pleasure and memories.
