Two years later, I am a registered nurse with an associate’s degree. I am excited to continue my education and feel prepared for the challenges that lie ahead. The education and motivation I received from MWCC is far more rewarding than I could have ever imagined." -Kristy Webster Nursing and Honors Program graduate, 2006

They benefit from a learning community with small class sizes, teacher-student mentoring, and team-taught interdisciplinary courses. MWCC Honors students have transferred to: Bentley College, Boston University, Clark University, Mount Holyoke College, Northeastern University, Regis College, Smith College, Wellesley College, University of Massachusetts, and other Massachusetts state colleges, to name just a few. After graduating from MWCC, most enter these colleges as juniors, many with full or partial scholarships.
Commonwealth Honors Program All MWCC Honors courses are transferable as Honors courses within the Massachusetts public higher education system. Honors Program graduates are guaranteed acceptance into Honors Programs at these senior institutions.

Civic Engagement and Service Learning
How can you get involved?
Help improve the lives of others as you gain valuable skills, network with professionals, and build your resume. Civic engagement is active participation in public life for the good of the community. Service learning combines community service and classroom learning. It emphasizes critical, reflective thinking, and personal and civic responsibility.
Past student projects have included helping new mothers cope with the challenges and joys of parenting, working with children at an early childhood education center, improving the environment, organizing food drives for homeless shelters, and lobbying government officials on important issues. Learn as you research, identify, and report on rare and endangered species; teach senior citizens computer skills; or mentor at-risk youth. Depending on your major and your interests, the possibilities are limited only by your imagination!
