The Executive Director
This time of year families are gearing up for the holiday season and preparing for the inevitable Chicago area winter. While the days are a little shorter and we often find ourselves hibernating until the joy (and warmth!) of spring, I still love the winter. Whether playing in the snow, sitting by a warm fire or playing indoor sports, the winter has lots to offer. The team at The Community House has been listening to your ideas and planning to make sure you have lots of opportunities and options to come out and play, engage, and learn all winter and right into the spring.
• WINTER BIRTHDAY?
Check out page 11 for our popular art or S.T.E.M. birthday packages.
• FUTURE DOCTOR?
Look at page 28 for Little Medical School classes for 6-12 and 12-15 year old.
• NEED A NEW WORKOUT?
Our new classes in Yoga Strength, Yoga Chisel, and Qi-Gong on pages 44-47 will keep you moving.
• HAVING A CREATIVE MOMENT?
Join the Happy Little Trees class on page 18 to paint a relaxing nature scene. In the new year you can still join the After the Bell program at your school (page 7), extend your kindergarten day with the K.E.A.P. half day program (page 8) or learn to play lacrosse with the talented coaches of the Hinsdale Herd Lacrosse (page 34). Take a moment to explore what we is being offered over the next few months, we know you’ll find something for every age and interest in your house. And don’t forget, because we are privately funded and do not receive your tax support, when you participate and donate, YOU are the reason we can continue to offer these amazing opportunities to your family and the community.
