Army Family Team Building (AFTB) is a program aimed at educating and encouraging Families and DOD Civilians to become active participants and leaders in the community. Installation Annual VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION CEREMONY AND VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION RECEPTION April 22, 2016 at Nehelani Conference & Banquet Center 11:00 a.m. Volunteer Recognition Ceremony 12:00 p.m. Volunteer Appreciation Reception U.S. Army Hawaii and Family and MWR would like to send a BIG THANK YOU to all of our volunteers. Your efforts resulted in over 80,000 hours of volunteer service, totaling over two million dollars. To show our appreciation, during the entire month, ACS will be distributing punch cards that offer great discounts and specials to our volunteers. The punch cards will available for pick up at the Army Community Service office, Bldg. 2091

Kolekole Ave., Schofield Barracks during normal business hours. Punch cards are available to the first 250 volunteers on a first-come, first-served basis. Volunteers must be registered in the Volunteer Management Information System (VMIS) and have certified volunteer hours between January 1 and December 31, 2015. FINANCIAL READINESS Million Dollar Soldier Refresher

This workshop focuses on basic financial skills to help develop self-reliance and personal responsibility. The goal is to encourage Soldiers and Families to understand their personal finances and learn tools for financial success. This is a mandatory program of instruction for First Term Soldiers offered every Monday (except Federal Holidays). Soldiers must bring an End Of Month Leave and Earning Statement (EOM LES). Annual Kick Butts Campaign 5K Fun Run

Youth Sports and Fitness is helping to take a stand against big tobacco companies by joining up with the Kick-Butts Anti-Tobacco program. Kick-Butts is a campaign designed to help youth and teens make smart choices about peer pressure and using tobacco products. Youth Sports and Fitness will be hosting a 5K Fun Run/Walk at AMR. The run will start at 8:00 a.m., registration starts at 7:00 a.m. This event is FREE to the military community. All participants will sign-in and sign the pledge to kick-butts upon arrival. Introduction to Surfing

Learn to surf like a Local! Come join Outdoor Recreation on the south shores of Oahu at White Plains. This is a great beginner location for all ages. Outdoor Recreation will provide the transportation, equipment, and instruction. All you need to bring is water, snacks, and sunscreen. Must be a proficient swimmer and able to tread water for at least 6 minutes and swim 200 yards. Apr. 9 • 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. $59/person

Stand Up Paddle-Boarding 101

Come learn the art of Stand Up Paddle Boarding as we cruise the Anahulu River on the North Shore of Oahu and other various beaches around the island!
