All the best mechanical rides will also be available again, including swings, a kid-sized roller coaster, a climbing wall and more.

The pony rides were a big hit last year and we’ve got them out again this year for some four-legged fun. Get in line early for this one because it fills up fast!

ARMY FAMILY COVENANT / BLUE STAR CARD / KMC

Spouses of deployed Soldiers: Do you have your Blue Star Card? The Blue Star Card is a FMWR deployment discount card for Spouses of deployed Soldiers. The card offers everyday discounts at FMWR facilities, free childcare options and access to special events and activities. Blue Star Cards are available and valid throughout the duration of deployment. If you are eligible for a Blue Star Card, bring a copy of your Soldier’s deployment orders, along with your military ID to Army Community Service (ACS), or fill out an application online at www.bluestarcardhawaii.com and then visit ACS to pick up your card. Make sure to submit your email address when signing up for your Blue Star Card so you can be emailed with the latest discounts, events, and activities for card holders. For more information on the Blue Star Card program, call 656-3325 or 656-3327.

A note to our retiring Blue Star Card holders: We would like to thank each of you for your service here at home as we know that being a Spouse of a deployed Soldier is not always easy, and we truly appreciate all that you do. Once your Soldier is home, please dispose of your Blue Star Card as it is no longer active and all benefits cease, with exception to the 16 free hours of respite care provided through CYS Services, which is valid up to 60 days after your Soldier returns. Or, as a final treat, bring your expired Blue Star Card (with the blue stripe) to the Stryke Back Bash, Thursday, March 12 at 5 pm at the Nehelani for a chance to win a special prize. Additionally, we would like to thank you for your participation in the Blue Star Card program. Your support of the program ensures the benefits and activities provided through the program will remain strong. In an effort to keep the Blue Star Card program relevant and meeting the needs of our Family members we would love feedback on the program. Please visit the website below and fill out our short survey. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s. aspx?sm=iH_2bfXx6bnxPif_2ft3rCqu9g_3d_3d. Or visit www.mwrarmyhawaii.com and find the survey under the survey central section.

Army Museums U.S. Army Museum of Hawaii

Tropic Lightning Museum Schofield Barracks

Fort DeRussy In the early years of the 20th century, Battery Randolph mounted the largest coast-artillery guns in the entire Pacific, and served as a first line of defense against an enemy attack on Oahu. Through the battery’s intricate corridors and beneath 12-foot thick ceilings the galleries of the museum tell the story of the U.S. Army in Hawaii through unique models, rarely seen photomurals, historic videos, and artifacts. The newest exhibit portrays the notable career of Kauai-born General Eric Shinseki.

The museum exhibits tell the stories of the 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, and Wheeler Army Air Field. Interactive touch screens throughout the museum provide historical information, photographs and videos. The Changing Gallery features an exhibition about the Global War on Terrorism. In historic Carter Hall, open Tues. - Sat., 10 am - 4 pm (closed Sun., Mon. & most federal holidays). Free parking & admission. Guided tours available, call for more information: 655-0438.
