MWR WHAT’S UP? | May 2018
Greetings NSA Bahrain! The MWR Intramural Sports Program at NSA Bahrain is intended to provide a well-rounded program that encourages maximum opportunity for participation of all eligible personnel. Program emphasis at the intramural level is on promoting physical fitness, building esprit de corps and providing a viable alternative to drug and alcohol abuse. Every sport that we host has two separate seasons, the Captain’s Cup, open to military commands and the Open Cup, available to all base patrons, 18 and older. Upcoming sporting events include the Labor Day 1-Pitch Softball Tournament on September 7-8, as well as the Flag Football League starting September 26 and the Captain’s Cup Soccer League on September 30.
Are you in the military and have a passion for sports? Have you heard of the Command Sports Coordinator (CSC) position? Each command selects a CSC for their unit, and that representative is responsible for communicating information about upcoming Captain’s Cup events and MWR happenings. Interested in being your command’s CSC? Ask your leadership about this great opportunity! You could be the key to your command’s success in winning the annual Captain’s Cup trophy. Are you looking for a part time job? MWR hires individuals on contract to support the various annual sporting events on NSA Bahrain. We currently have a shortage of officials and scorekeepers. Please contact me for available openings at 1785-8916.
