ABOUT ME I’m a recent Architectural Graduate from the Queensland University of Technology with demonstrated professional experience in the industry. I have a passion for design and my creativity drives everything I do. In that sense, design is an extremely important language that has the means to solve an array of problems, providing cross disciplinary, innovative, sustainable and user-centered solutions. I’m fascinated, and inspired by this notion; that I have the ability to instigate positive change in our world through my work

FOOD MACHINE GROW / EDUCATE / SUPPORT The “Food Machine” located in the heart of Red Hill recognises the community’s need to produce nutritious food locally and sustainably. By way of an ethical food journey; from production, to preparation and then consumption, the experience for anyone visiting the site is both educational and interactive. Environmental processes are integrated into the design and include recycling organic food waste to produce renewable energy, water wastage reduction by growing crops hydroponically and local production which reduces travel mileage and in turn transportation pollution. This facility in its design is a catalyst for future food production in inner city areas in Brisbane, Australia and the world.

HALL OF DEMOCRACY GIVING THE PEOPLE OF BRISBANE A VOICE In response to the key issues facing the demise of society, the ‘Hall of Democracy’ is a place designed for the people of Brisbane to help reinvigorate/ reinvent democracy. The buildings position on the site connects with the community of Brisbane by capturing significant vantage points such as Parliament House, the River, Botanic Gardens, Brisbane Wheel and the Mansions. The building in its design, is sunk into the ground to create a connection with mother earth, while glass is used extensively to create transparency and provide opportunities to connect both internally and externally. Water is another key element used in the concept to represent life and provide a tranquil environment that engages the senses. By providing a space that nurtures knowledge, connects cultures and provides an opportunity for free speech, the design aims to contribute towards shaping a prosperous future where all can flourish.

TEYS ROCKHAMPTON ADMINISTRATION, WORKSHOP & AMENITIES BUILDING This project involved 2 stages; the renovation of an existing administration building and construction of a new workshop and amenities building. My responsibility in this project involved developing concept designs and coordinating with consultants to produce a complete construction documentation package. A highlight of mine during this project was getting to work closely with the client to develop design solutions that were cost effective and practical to meet the operational needs of the business.

GOLD COAST MENTAL HEALTH SECURE MENTAL HEALTH REHABILITATION UNIT I have been responsible for drafting and coordinating room layout and room data sheets for Gold Coast Secure Mental Health and across a variety of other hospital, private consult and aged care projects. I have co-ordinated these drawing sets with client and consultant feedback, right from the sketch design phase all the way through to contract documentation. I draft these room layout sheets in Revit with reference to the Australasian Health Facility Guidelines, product data sheets and consultant inputs.

ST KILDA RSL CARE ST KILDA INDEPENDENT LIVING UNITS This high end apartment complex consists of 81 units and has been designed for senior residents. My role in this project involved BIM modeling, developing area plans and creating visualisation graphics for the marketing reports. This particular project was challenging to rationalise apartment typologies as the building envelope had been designed by another architect and to receive DA approval we needed to keep within this constraint.
