Thursday, February 12, 9:00 AM-6:00 PM FOL Chocolate Around The World The Friends of the Library is having their annual Chocolate Around the World fundraiser. Come taste chocolate from the six countries of Belgium, Ecuador, Columbia, Italy, France, and Germany. Taste three countries for $1.00 or all six countries for $2.00, and vote for your favorite! There will also be a chocolate bake sale and romance books for sale. This is a fundraiser for the STEM programs at the library.

Tuesday, February 24, 4:00 PM Sensational Science: Exploding Chain Reaction Popsicle sticks are great for holding frozen treats, but this program will show that they are also excellent for demonstrating potential and kinetic energy. If you weave Popsicle sticks together right, you can create a chain reaction that will create a dazzling display of flying popsicle sticks! Please register at the circulation desk or call the library. For grades 1 and up.

Friday, February 6, 10:00 AM Valentine Wreath Project In this class we will make a sweet, heart-shaped wreath. There is no cost and supplies are provided. Thursday, February 19, 6:00 PM Truth About Cancer Series Lorie Hagan, dietitian and health coach, will share a video series about alternative cancer treatments. This series will be held the third Thursday of each month. Thursday, February 26, 6:00 PM Getting Organized Get an early start on spring cleaning or a late start on a New Year’s resolution! Sarah Shirley will share tips for getting organized around the house. March Preview!!! Thursday, March 5, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Basket Class: Braid-stitch Cornbread & Biscuit Basket Beth Hester of GH Productions is the instructor for this class. The fee is $44, due by the registration deadline of Thursday, February 19. This is a beginner to intermediate skill basket. Bring a sack lunch to class. Register at the Circulation Desk or call the library. Thursday, March 12, 6:00 PM Trivia Night Join us for a fun-filled night of trivia contests and prizes. Teams of four to six members (depending on attendance) will compete in general trivia for small prizes. Bring your own team, or sign up as a single and join new friends for a team. The event is free, but sign-up is requested. Please sign up by Thursday, March 5. Stop by the circulation desk or call the library. For young adults (high school age) and up.

February 1 -- March 20 Creative Studio: Summer Reading Bookmark The summer reading theme is “Every Hero Has A Story”. Stop by the circulation desk for contest guidelines. You can even design your bookmark at home and bring it back in. Bookmark artwork needs to measure 3” x 7 1/2”. It must be an original piece of 2D art. Artwork will be displayed on our Facebook page. The winner will receive a $20 Walmart giftcard. For grades 4-12. Saturday, February 7, 9:00 AM- 4:00 PM Bring Your Child To the Library Day Children and their families are invited to visit the library today. Each child who visits the library today will receive a special treat. If you do not have a library card and stop by today to get one, you will earn an extra treat. There will be a special craft for you to create, and you will want to check out our cool book display, play area, and computers. Birth to 15 yrs.

For toddlers ages 18-36 months. An interactive program that includes songs, rhymes and fingerplays.

Monday, February 23, 6:30 PM Mother-Daughter Book Club The Mother-Daughter Book Club will be discussing A Snicker of Magic, by Natalie Lloyd. This is the story of 12-year-old Felicity Pickle, who arrives in her Mama’s hometown. It has a cast of eccentric, lovable characters and an intrigiuing plot as Felicity attempts to break a curse on Midnight Gulch. Please sign up at the circulation desk when you pick up your free copy of the book. Book club size is limited. New members are welcome. For grades 6-8.
