ABOUT ART RELIEF
Art Relief is a creative self-care kit that aims to help college students and young adults relieve any stress or anxiety through the process of art-making. The goal is to provide easy access to the creative activities similarly used in art therapy from the comfort of your own home. These activities can range from doodling and painting to collaging and sculpting.

There is only one thing you need to know... THERE ARE NO RULES! There is no “right” or “wrong” way to get started.
HOW TO START an art journal
Step 1: Gather your art journaling materials. All you really need is paper, some sort of writing instrument, and the desire to get started. Step 2: Prepare a space to create. You don’t need a fancy art studio or even a lot of space to start art journaling - your kitchen table will work just fine! Step 3: Start by creating a background. There’s really no wrong way to create your background pages in your art journal - so if you have an idea, just dive right on in! But if you feel stuck or intimidated when you’re staring at that blank page, here some simple background idea that can get you started: Torn Up Papers Background This is simply some ripped up pieces of leftover scrapbooking paper and some old pages from a damaged book glued into a composition notebook. You can rip the papers in any shape to be any size and start layering them together. You can use a simple glue stick or a collage adhesive like matte gel medium - but don’t use Mod Podge! It tends to leave surfaces very tacky and sticky. Watercolor/Acrylic Painted Background Paint random strokes with different colors in acrylic/ watercolor paints, such as lines, blocks, circles, triangles, splatters, etc.
