369 Dine&Bar: A Sporty Rooftop Bar at Ibis Yangon BY PHONE DEPAR MIN Beer lovers and sports fanatics, hotel guests and foodies all mingle together in this extravagant rooftop landmark. Located on the top floor of the modern Ibis Styles Yangon Stadium Hotel, the restaurant also has a couple of very choice delicacies, everything from wine to cigars to schnitzels. The chief chef also worked for the very first hotel of Yangon Strand, as well as a jaunt over to Dubai for 8 years before coming back to test his refined skills back home. The cuisine is mainly of European and Asian stock, with the myriad kinds of German Schnitzels being particularly in favor among customers. Another favorite is Udon Soup, a Japanese style soup served with egg and prawn, with adding pork, beef or chicken being up to the whim of the customer. The menu has quite a number of dishes from many different nations, and 369 Restaurant and Bar does its best to maintain the quality of the food across the diverse expanse of dishes. They are very sizeable as well; a single dish can usually be shared equally among three people. The main dish of 369 Restaurant and Bar is the Pork Knuckle, a very German serving with the quite obviously grilled pork knuckles and with the even more German sauerkraut and potato dumplings. Another on the list is the Curry Sausage, a very Indian tasting confection with grilled pork sausage mixed in with spicy tomato curry onion sauce, with French fries and mixed salad being availableThe establishment has a wide array of cigars found almost nowhere else in Yangon; Whiba and Bollivar being just two of these. If you’re feeling up for some novel drinks, why not try their mocktails, like Summer of Yangon, a delightful chug that is molded especially for Yangon’s hot and humid climate. Shisha is available in different flavors, as well as live bands and the odd DJ passing through, just ripe for the customer to enjoy with a glass Pilsener Beer or a mug of Carlsberg. Tiny bit of the downfall is that the parking space is somewhat tight, although there’s more free space after 9pm for those having a night out. The West: Exceptional Western Dishes in Upscale Atmosphere NATTY TANGMEESANG The West may be a familiar name to Yangonites. Earlier, it has announced the reopening with new look, new concept, and tremendous improvement in the menu. The overall steakhouse vibe remains with the bullhead, wood-based decoration but in upscale atmosphere. The venue is divided into two zones; the dining zone downstairs and the live-band zone upstairs, ranging from rock, jazz, and DJs. We started with an appetizer, which includes mozzarella, cheese, tomato, and Parma Ham from Spain, Rose Mary, beetroot, and vinegar (8,000 ks). The taste of the Parma ham complement well with the cheese enhanced the taste with vinegar. For the main course, The West’s Signature “The West Pork Ribs”(16,800 ks/500gm) which is a USA pork ribs in BBQ sauce, served with potato gratin and sautéed vegetable is one of the best ribs in town. The quality and the taste of the ribs have immensely improved. It is so tender that it comes off easily from the bones. The meat is soaked with BBQ sauce and easy to chew. The portion is perfect for sharing. The next dish was the highlight of the night which is a 30-Day Dry Aged Premium Beef Jack's Creek MB2 Prime Ribs (whole served) 1 kg, priced at 16,800 ks/100 kg = 168,000 ks ++ . The prime ribs are imported from the US and being kept for 30 days for the moist in the beef to evaporate. The rib is served in medium rare to keep the juiciness. The tenderness of the beef and the exquisite taste is worth every single kyat spent. Moving on to the drink, the restaurant offers a wide selection of wine from red, white, bubble, arranged by Sommelier SAGA " Senior Sommelier (JSA). If you are a cocktail fan, we also recommend a signature drink “Basil Gin Fizz,” gin based drink with basil leave, topped with soda water to keep you refreshed after a tiring day.
