10 Tips To Look After Your Teeth

Brush at least Twice a Day The best time to brush teeth is after meals. Choose a toothbrush with a small head for better access to back teeth. Soft bristles are kinder on your gums. Buy imported toothbrush @ MyBeautyBazaar.

Use Fluoridated Toothpaste Fluoride helps to harden tooth enamel and reduces your risk of decay. Check out fluoride based toothpaste here.

Brush Thoroughly Tooth brushing should take between two and three minutes. Here are some quick steps to help you maintain a healthy mouth, and bright smile: 

Place the toothbrush at a 45°angle along the gum line. Move the toothbrush in a back and forth motion, and repeat for each tooth.

Brush the inside surface of each tooth, using the same back and forth technique.

Brush the chewing surface (top) of each tooth.

Floss Your Teeth Daily Proper flossing removes plaque and food particles in places where a toothbrush cannot easily reach. How to do Flossing 

Pull 18 to 24 inches of dental floss

Wrap the ends of the floss around your index and middle fingers.

Hold the floss tightly around each tooth in a C shape; move the floss back and forth in a push-pull motion and up and down against the side of each tooth.

Use a slow and gentle sawing motion. Check out imported flosses!

Limit Your Drinks Limit acidic drinks like soft drinks, cordials and fruit juices. Food acids soften tooth material and dissolve the minerals in tooth enamel, causing holes (cavities or caries). In severe cases, teeth may be ‘eaten’ right down to the gum.

Limit Sugary Foods The main point to remember is that it is not the amount of sugar you eat or drink, but how often you do it. Sweet foods are allowed, but it is important just to have them at mealtimes. Because bacteria in dental plaque change sugars into acids.

Protect Teeth From Injury Wear a mouth-guard or full-face helmet when playing sports. 

Mouth Guards : When playing sports, the best way to protect your teeth and mouth is by wearing a mouth guard.

Face cages: This equipment protects against trauma to the face, especially when playing certain sports positions, like baseball catcher or hockey goalie.

Helmets: It's always wise to wear a helmet made for the activity that you are participating in.

Try to Save a Knocked Out Tooth If possible, hold the tooth back in place while you seek immediate dental advice. If this is not possible, wrap the tooth in plastic or place it in milk and seek dental advice immediately.

Avoid Harmful Dental Habits Avoid using your teeth for anything other than chewing food. If you use them to crack nuts, remove bottle tops or rip open packaging, you risk chipping or even breaking your teeth.

Do Regular Check-ups Regular dental visits are important because they help keep your teeth and gums healthy. You should have a regular dental visit at least twice a year. Visit your dentist immediately if you have a dental problem such as a toothache or bleeding gums.
