Is It Body Fat or Something Else?

Let’s face it! We silently curse the dimpled cellulite that has settled on our thighs, the extra weight that just seems to creep up as we get older. But not everyone stores fat the same way. There is a disease where fat accumulates abnormally in arms and legs that can actually harm your health.

Lipedema is a hereditary disease that is often mistaken for obesity and occurs mostly in the female population. It is a condition that affects the fatty tissue in the legs and sometimes the arms. Lipedema does not usually respond to regular diet and exercise and can occur in all sizes of people.

Symptoms of Lipedema include legs that look like columns and patients will often be a smaller size on the upper body and several sizes larger on the lower body. Additionally, skin is often tender to the touch and may bruise easily. It is very important that a correct diagnosis is made so the proper course of treatment can be implemented.

If left untreated, Lipedema can lead to other serious conditions.

Dr Wright understands this painful disease and is creating the awareness that there is hope! He is one of the very few specialists able to diagnose Lipedema and skillfully and effectively treat the disease. Dr. Wright is a frequent speaker and faculty advisor to the Fat Disorders Research Society, which provides education and resources to patients and clinicians.

Ever notice as you get older, it is harder to recall names and dates? Feel like your coordination isn’t what it used to be? At Dance Pizazz we see people like this every day, who all see dramatic improvements through Ballroom Dancing!

Dance Pizazz is a Ballroom, Latin & Swing Dance Studio located in St. Peters, Missouri. For almost ten years we have been teaching people how to dance. It’s amazing the transformations people make through dancing.

For 86-year-old Bill, dancing with his wife brought him joy before she passed away, so when Bill saw a yard sign from Dance Pizazz he decided to give it a try. In only 3 months at Dance Pizazz, Bill not only remembered how to Swing Dance but also learned Rumba, Tango, and Foxtrot for the first time. Bill enjoyed coming to Dance Pizazz for weekly practice parties and he became so confident he did several performances.

The Beardly Man

The ultimate man cave is at your fingertips.

To call The Beardly Man, located at 10 Meadows Circle Drive Suite 102, merely a “male salon.” would be a disservice. It’s more like the ultimate hang spot while spending a breezy visit to The Meadows. Pool tables, oversized recliners, a mix of beverages, both adult and milder, to satisfy any liking and either the game or a guy-friendly flick up on the big screen.

Justin Grey first launched The Beardly Man as a grooming product just a few years ago, and it was a hit. Then Grey felt the need to open and brick mortar version of The Beardly Man, but it had to be just right. And it had to be non-traditional.

The Beardly Man customers have options aplenty. If your hair needs a trim, Grey and his staff have you covered. If you are one of those whose beard needs extra attention, plenty of The Beardly Man products are available for purchase. Or maybe it’s a drink and a check in on the score of the game is just what you need to escape the “how does this look?” question.

Grey and The Beardly Man shook off a rough start. The store had its grand opening on March 3. In April, a trash fire led to closing down the store briefly. The Beardly Man had its re-opening on May 12.

“We are getting back to the swing of things,” Grey said. “Most people don’t think of the Meadows as being hustle and bustle, but we’re getting there.”
