St. Peters named 13th best place to live in America by Money Magazine
Money Magazine has named the city of St. Peters to its 2020 list of the Best Places to Live in America, ranking St. Peters at No. 13 overall. St. Peters was the highest-ranked city in the state of Missouri. This is the fifth time that St. Peters has been ranked on this prestigious list, and it’s the highest the city of St. Peters has ever reached on the list.
In 2017, St. Peters was ranked No. 15 in the nation. St. Peters also made the magazine’s Best Places to Live in 2008, 2010, and 2012.
“We are honored that Money Magazine has again recognized St. Peters as one of our nation’s best places to live,” Mayor Len Pagano said. “To receive this honor in such a challenging year reminds me what community is about. It’s about neighbors working together, and it’s about caring for each other. We were chosen because of our great quality of life and the more than 8,000 new jobs in our community over the last few years both at the Premier 370 area and other new businesses, including retail. With the support of the people who live here, the businesses and entrepreneurs who stay and grow here and those who continue to serve their community every day including our great first responders, healthcare and all our essential workers, we are a great place to live, work, play and raise a family. I am truly blessed to serve as Mayor for such a special community.”
Money said in its story on St. Peters: “It’s not hard to find community in St. Peters: Local musicians perform in a free sunset concert series on summer Fridays (streamed on-demand this year due to the coronavirus). Each month the city organizes a day trip for residents. … The Rec-Plex, fondly referred to as the town’s ‘crown jewel,’ is a delightful, city-run recreation center where families can enjoy Olympic-sized swimming pools, a NHL-sized ice rink, and 8,000 square feet of fitness equipment.”
The magazine said St. Peters has a $79,000 median household income, 50 percent higher than in the state at large, and that 80 percent of St. Peters’ residents own their homes. A brokerage firm quoted by Money found that homes in St. Peters “are selling fast right now for about one percent above list price.”

O’Fallon resident wins Rodeo Queen Pageant

Alexa Daly competed for the title of Miss Rodeo Troy at the Troy Rodeo Queen Pageant held during the Troy FFA Alumni & Lincoln County Relay for Life Rodeo. The pageant is held annually and raises money for the Relay for Life benefiting the American Cancer Society, and scholarships for the Troy FFA Alumni to offer local high school graduates. Daly was also voted Miss Congeniality by the contestants of the pageant.
Daly is a 20 year old junior at Southern Arkansas University, and competed in the Horsemanship category with her American Quarter Horse, Lena Zana. Daly was the 2020 Mississippi Miss Agriculture, and 2018 St. Charles County Fair Queen. Daly said her competition experience has been excellent and encourages young women to step out of their comfort zone and challenge themselves. The pageant experience has provided her with opportunities to meet new people, improve her public speaking and be a positive role model.
Daly graduated May 2018 from Fort Zumwalt South High School, where she was active in the Marching Band,
