FRIDAY, 17TH
SEPTEMBER | We meet at the airport at 5.30am for our flight departing to
Dusseldorf – arrival about 11.00am. Upon arriving, we will be transferred to our hotel and have some free time for personal sightseeing of the city.
SATURDAY, 18TH SEPTEMBER | In the morning, after breakfast, we will make our way to the port of Cologne to board the ship – MS A-Rosa Aqua. Upon embarkation we will be assigned our cabin and free time. Departure from Cologne will be late in the afternoon.
SUNDAY, 19TH SEPTEMBER | We enjoy our first day with breakfast. Today, we will be sailing on Markemeer – a shallow lake between 3-5m deep in central Netherlands between North Holland, Flevoland and Ijsselmeer. We then stop at Enkhuizen located on the Markemeer, a picturesque little town that attracts thousands of tourists all year round. It has numerous historic buildings and monuments and pleasant harbour.
MONDAY, 20TH SEPTEMBER | Wake up and enjoy breakfast on board. This morning we wake up in Zaanstad – one of the largest municipalities made up of several towns and villages in the northern part of Netherlands. Towns included in the Zaanstad include Zaandam – the main city, Westzann, Wornmerveer, Assendeltf and Krommenie. Our next stop will be at the culture-packed capital city of Amsterdam. TUESDAY, 21ST SEPTEMBER | Breakfast on board – This day is dedicated to Rotterdam, the second largest city of Netherlands, located in the province of South Holland at the mouth of the Nieuwe Maas channel leading to Rhine-Meuse-Scheldt delta. It is a densely inhabited city with Europe’s largest port and has a rich history. With a riverside setting, Rotterdam has it all - World class architecture, urban design, lively cultural life, maritime heritage, art, nightlife and shopping.
WEDNESDAY, 22ND SEPTEMBER | We enjoy breakfast and, in the morning, we arrive in vibrant, fourth largest city in Belgium – Ghent. It is a thriving university town where one can find a rich cosmopolitan atmosphere with a small town quietness blended together. Ghent’s city centre is a pedestrian area that is like a museum to early Flemish architecture and a testament to the city’s medieval might. The city offer impressive Gothic sites such as the cathedral of St Bavo and the Castle of the Counts, both inspiring awe.

The city has been both economically and culturally important throughout the years. Despite many historical and severe WWII bombing, Antwerp retains an intriguing medieval heart with majestic architecture, culinary diversity, plenty of cafe-filled cobbled lanes, a riverside fortress and an impressive Cathedral.
FRIDAY, 24TH SEPTEMBER | We enjoy breakfast and our final stop will be in Nijmegen in the morning. It has a perfect position in a magnificent river landscape between the Rhine, Meuse and Waal rivers with abundant and fertile river soil. Today, one can still enjoy the Roman archaeological remains and Roman traditions in the region just like relaxing in a sauna or spa. Nijmegen also offers mountains, countryside and cultural history – museums, shops and cafes.
SATURDAY, 25TH SEPTEMBER | Arrival back in Cologne, enjoy breakfast and afterwards we disembark. We then make our way to Frankfurt. Along the way, we enjoy a stop at the city of Koblenz, located on the riverbanks of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. Later, we proceed to Frankfurt airport to board for our flight back to Malta, departing at 6.55pm and arriving at 9.30pm.
