I love gift baskets

I love gift baskets! Sometimes I'll send myself one just because I love them so much, and then act really surprised when it gets here. Okay not really, but don't think it hasn't crossed my mind. Thank you seems to be the hardest words When you are in your car and finish up at the drive-through window, do you say thank you? How about in your favorite diner or restaurant; do you thank your waitress? After you've written that earth shattering personal check for groceries this week, do you thank the cashier? It's not her fault you have to spend all that money on groceries. She did her job. "Thank you", for whatever reason, seems to be getting more and more difficult to say. Why is that? Do people not do enough for you, so you never have the opportunity? That's doubtful. When is the last time you really thanked the neighbor for running over to your place to let your dog out because you were held up the the office? How about when your friend came all the way across town just to sit with you all night because you got a weird phone call and you felt 'all oogie' about staying alone? People do things for us every day and how do we repay them? A mumbled "Mmph" as we hurriedly scurry away. Nice. That's real nice. I don't know of any dictionary where "Mmph" means "Hey, thank you, that was really nice." Oh I know-you're strapped for time. You and everybody else, including the person that just helped you out, are all strapped for time. Is it really so? No really, thank you

Now, flowers are nice; I suppose you could even put them in a thank you gift basket. But there are so many thank you gift baskets available now online or by phone order that you can really personalize them to be more befitting their recipient. Personally, I love a fresh fruit basket. It's my thing. That's sets my heart all a flutter. That should give you some idea of how a thank you gift basket can really make someone's day. They did you a favor or they were nice to you; regardless, they helped you out in some way, shape or form. Would it kill you to put a smile on their face, while at the same time letting them know that someone out there and actually appreciates them? Well, would it? No. Of course not. Punch up the numbers on your iPad, or Google 'thank you gift baskets', whip out that credit card you're so fond of throwing around and get to it. Here are just a few suggestions because I know you're such a time-strapped busy person: fresh fruits; cheese, sausage and crackers; cookies; gourmet snacks or candies; coffee and such. The best part about a thank you gift basket is that it doesn't have to come in a basket. Gift baskets can actually be gift totes, desk caddies, decorative tins, decorative cans, fancy boxes and so many more.
