M E E T T E R ESA Teresa has been insisting someone turn the car around so she can take a picture since she was old enough to unbuckle her own seatbelt. She always sat with the new kid in school, got in trouble for talking too much, rocked a safety vest on safety patrol, and cried along with sa anyone who had their feelings hurt. After going to Elon University and a brief career as a social worker, (and once being a candidate for ordination), Teresa picked up a camera and . . . it clicked. Pun definitely intended. Now all the cheesey jokes, building quick rapport, and looking to the sky for creative inspiration mix t ogether for a perfect photography combination. A little therapy for when you’re feeling nervous. A little humor for when you’re feeling camera shy. A little safety patrol vigilance for catching the smallest details. We know you’re not like everyone else and your senior portraits shouldn’t be either. No matter your style, waist size, or amount of sparkle we are here to show the world how awesome you are. Our most popular senior experience includes both photography and behind the scenes video for a fusion session that is customized totally to each individual - no two sessions look alike. Ou most creative ideas start with getting to know you face to face at our studio in Our Downtown Cary. We want to hear about your hobbies, your style, and what you and your friends do for fun. How do your mom and dad see you? What makes you laugh? What is most important to you about this time? Together we will plan a session that is uniquely you. Worried about what to wear? Don’t stress. Every session includes a design meeting where we come to your home and help you select outfits for your session. We will also photograph the walls of your home and learn about where and how you’d like to enjoy your artwork. Wh Whether it is a dancer floating away on balloons, rock climbing to new heights, or a vintage old car, our local connections and hidden locations produce gasp-worthy results. Your session will be a one of a kind experience that matches your image. You don’t have to know how to pose, our directed posing will show you at your best in a way that is candid but flattering. “I felt nervous at the beginning but then it was easy!” is the most common thing we hear after a session. Oh did we mention we’ll be doing behind the scenes video of your senior portrait session? Because we are. Our most popular session, the fusion session, incorporates all that awesome energy from your portraits into a video that will make you feel like you could be the star of your own reality show. THE REVEAL
& SELECTION
The Reveal W e know you’re ready for this moment . . . the one when you get to come back to our photography studio for the big reveal and selection appointment. Bring your family and your tissues because we promise you are going to be thrilled to tears. Watch your behind the scenes video on our projection wall and then turn around, because behind that 10 foot curtain are your 40 to 60 matted portraits on our gallery wall. Take a deep breath and let yourself feel proud, because yes, that is really you. th The Selection Sometimes we hear shrieks of joy, sometimes just “Wow. Oh wow!” sometimes just the sound of mom or dad trying to choke down tears. You might feel overwhelmed at how many great ones there are to choose from, don’t worry, we are here to help. Moms and dads love what comes next. Using the latest technology we have designed groupings for your walls, in the appropriate size, to match your style and personal tastes. Your senior portraits will be the perfect touch to add joy to a room. As a team we will have considered your home and your wishes in creating custom wall groupings that are just for you.
The Artwork M ost of the families we work with consider both wall art and desktop presentations like albums or story boxes to enjoy their portraits. We will work with your family in making the selections that work best for you. We want you to have everything you want, and nothing ev that you don’t. After you’ve placed your order we will hand retouch and beautify your images. We work with the best professional print labs in the world and deliver only the most exquisite heirloom quality printed works. When they arrive we check them for every perfect detail and package ev them with love. Installation of your artwork is included so put away your hammers and nails, we’ve got this covered. All of your artwork is meant to be enjoyed for a lifetime, and we mean that. Our thrilled to tears guarantee promises that in the event of a catastrophe, like water damage or a fire, we will replace your artwork at no cost. That’s right. The value of your you portraits only increases every year until they are literally, priceless. We will help you protect these priceless memories of the last moments of childhood.
How do we book a session?
When will our portraits be ready?
We’d love to hear from you! Reserving your senior session is as easy as calling us (919.297.8567) or emailing us (office@myfriendteresa.com). We will be happy to answer any of your preliminary questions and set up your planning meeting.
Your portraits will be available two to three weeks after your session at your reveal and selection appointment. Where do the portrait sessions take place?
At your planning meeting we will choose your session date, time and location. We accept a limited number of senior sessions each year and our booking calencalen dar opens February 1st, 2018 for the Class of 2019.
We have scouted out great locations that are perfect for portrait sessions but we are always open to new lideas. In-studio sessions can also be arranged by request. Please book your session at least 1 month in advance to allow for availability.
What forms of payment to you accept?
How long do your sessions last?
Credit cards, checks and cash are all accepted. State Sales Tax is added to each order.
Typically sessions last between 1- 2 hours depending on which type of session you book and where we are photographing.

When is payment due? How much do senior portraits cost? Payment for your session is due at time of booking and payment for print orders is due at time of your order.
While everyone’s family is different, we have found most of our clients budget $2000 - $4000 to enjoy the fullest expresion of their images in heirloom quality artwork and digital files. Those who prefer a few select pieces budget several hundred dollars.

What should I wear? We encourage you to wear something you already own and love. The best outfits are ones that make you feel more confident or make you feel your best. Remember you’ll be asked to sit, stand, and move around during your session so it is best to pick outfits that look flattering whether sitting or standing. Choose solid colors and tones that compliment your skin tone and eyes. Remember that shoes and accessories are a vital part of the coordination of your outfit. You can use accessories as a pop of color when wearing neutrals, or as subtle accents if you’re wearing bright colors. Make sure your clothes are ironed and tailored. We advise shying away from busy patterns, strapless tops and spaghetti straps. Don’t feel like you have to buy something new. What should we bring? As little as possible! We will be walking a little bit during your session and carrying a bag or cell phone can become cumbersome. A hairbrush, baby wipes, and powder can be good tools to use as needed to fix hair, wipe faces, get rid of static, and reduce shine, but leave them in the car. We will circle back and get them as needed. If you are bringing props to your session that is great! You can leave them in the car until we need them. Where Whe do we go? Where do we park? We will plan your session location at the planning meeting and remind you by email where to meet the day of your session. Do parents come? Can I bring a friend? We ask that a parent attend the session with you; please let us know if they are not available to join us. If you are planning to bring extra family members or a friend to your sesion, please let us know and be aware that the more people who are watching your session, the harder it can be to stay focused.
Can we change clothes? Where will we do that? We will have time for three outfits (total). We recommend wearing your most formal or “complicated” outfit first. Make sure you’ve let me know you’d like to have that as an option so I can plan your shoot itinerary accordingly. Most shoot locations do not have restroom facilities or a place to change clothes so you will change clothes in your car. hhh iii hhppen hh he session?
