HMpartners.org

A Heart-Felt Thank You

Some of the initiatives currently underway include: • Collaboration of like services together – streamlining delivery of care delivery by locating services that are complimentary. • Augmenting our outpatient services – we’ve relocated our EEG testing area, renovated and expanded space for EMG and Pulmonary Function tests. Kathy Cook, President St. Joseph Health Center First, I would like to let everyone know that I am honored to be President of St. Joseph Health Center and feel blessed for the opportunity to work with so many talented, dedicated professionals. As we move into the future, we face a number of opportunities to grow and to embrace new challenges. I am very excited about the work that lies ahead and believe my main goal is to put St. Joseph in the best position to ensure our continued success. Physicians are central to our ability to succeed. I have had the opportunity to meet with many of you already. Strengthening our relationship is a key priority and working together will enable us to weather the changes that are occurring in healthcare. To help us meet these challenges, we are taking a critical look at our operations and making changes that will help us provide healthcare more efficiently and effectively.

• Cardiac Rehab will move into the hospital to expand Medicare hours of operation. In addition, we are very pleased to announce the new, state-of-the-art Bronchial Thermoplasty procedure for severe asthma, will now be available here at St. Joseph Health Center. These are exciting times and I invite you to join with me as we move St. Joseph and the ministry of Humility of Mary Health Partners into the future of healthcare. I personally thank you for all you do and the care you provide our patients. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me. My office number is 330-841-4016.

Earlier this year, St. Joseph Cancer Center was honored to accept a very special donation. Diane Calain presented the staff with a needlepoint to thank them for the care they provided to her husband, Ed Calain. Pictured from left, DeOnne Petrosky, Sara Balzer, Diane Calain, Beverly Brunker, Antoine Chahine, MD; Lisa Palmer, Sue Desmond, Julie Geddes, and Dan Knorr. The needlepoint will be hung in the center for all patients and staff to enjoy.

Duly Noted…. By Edward Novosel, DO You may have noticed the bulletin board recently installed in the St. Joseph Physician Lounge. Its purpose is to provide valuable information in our Quest for Excellence. The bulletin board will be updated regularly to give you information about quality, length of stay, and patient feedback from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS). I would like to congratulate the St. Joseph Medical Staff. Our physicians have achieved success in September that has moved our score to 80.0 which translates to 1 value based point for St. Joseph. In addition, our Length of Stay for the same month was 1.060. Thanks to all – and keep up the great work!
