indfulness is the ancient practice of being in the moment and noticing without judgment. A practice that seems so simple, yet one that we often neglect in our fast-paced, modern lives. Mindfulness has been used in treating depression, anxiety, emotional stress related to terminal illness or work, sleep disturbance and even nicotine dependence. Mindfulness is also used as a gateway to higher spiritual growth or as a path to more balanced, centered living. Dr. Marich will guide us through the seven primary areas of mindfulness in motion, breath, sound, body, story, mind, spirit and integrated experience. She will also introduce us to Dancing Mindfulness which she developed as an art form of dance as the primary medium of discovering mindful awareness. Come prepared to experience the rhythmic qualities of our own breath and heartbeat.

Program Objectives: Learners will be able to: Identify the role of Mindfulness as a means of trauma processing and recovery. Define the benefits of movement based holistic practice for emotional healing.
