Camping Cafe Year 2 Final Project of Semester 2 Project Type Area Duration Location
Residential and Commercial 16,000 sq.m. 1 month Petchkasem Road, Bang Khae Sub-district, Bang Khae District, Bangkok 10160
The site is located in a suburb area between Bangkok and Nonthaburi which is full of residential and commercial buildings. According to the lifestyle of users in this area, the Camping concept responds to their insight needs. Target customers are family and teenagers who are seeking for relaxing place at the weekend. Our design emphasizes a unique style that easy to capture people’s attention. The program consists of 2 main zones; residential and commercial. Residential is composed of two owners’ houses, the commercial is composed of a coffee cafe, an event rental building, a parking lot, and a market plaza.

A composition of building form the main space in the middle which can be both used for an activity and scenery. A shape of a water body is designed to distribute water throughout. The existing important tree; Samanea saman, is preserved carefully by spacing from new constructions. Circulation is organized to flow
cars efficiently with 2 main entrances connect to public roads and 1 sub-entrance for service and residents. The parking lot is designed to minimize wasting space and constructed with a pervious block which aims to reduce runoff and it allows grass to grow.

Detail of the market plaza Wide steps persuades people to see the cafe clear and welcome customers. Different level of floors and the shape of the design is created for interesting space surrounded by colorful and low maintenance plants. A composition of planting is designed in a variety of colors, height, and species are selected follows the concept of the cafe; camping.

Detail of cafe and indoor event building. Two buildings are composed to create main open space in a middle. Water creek is built as a boarder line of each zone and scenery. Wood deck extends from cafe to persuade customer to be close to the nature.

Contour is formed to enclose the main open space of the site and be used as a place to camp. Camps are installed on 3 levels, so camps will not block the view of each other.

The composition of the house is designed to face the front of the house, nature without seeing each other. The space between the two houses is a sharing space while each house has its own private garden with the opposite side Camping Cafe

DAM ! Year 3 Midterm Project of Semester 1 Project Type Area Duration Location
Residential 48,000 sq.m. 1 month Phuket, Thailand
A residential project of Provincial Electricity Authority is located on a hill at Phuket; a southern province of Thailand. According to the landscape constrain of the slope, The concept was inspired by the site difficulty that turns to be a site unique and great opportunity for creating small dams to reserve water. Following the PEA’s purpose; producing electricity, the image of the organization is green and environmentally friendly. Creating a small dam can reduce runoff and be a recreation of the site. The project requires 5 main functions, a conference hall, a parking lot, a clubhouse, a cluster of officer’s houses and apartments.

The west side is connected to the main public road and being the lowest elevation of the land while the east side is the highest. After slope and elevation analysis, cluster of buildings is placed in a safe and proper location according to the function of each building type. Meanwhile, the road in the project area is designed to be the most compact and not too steep.

The conference hall is considered to be the most public, so it is convenient to access. The hall is split into 3 buildings, on purpose to smaller the size, so it will affect the nature less. Each building is connected by a deck that allows space flows freely to each other and nature trail.

The shape of the roof was inspired by leaf and it goes along well with the contour. The curve makes it looks more natural and remarkable.
The clubhouse consists of fitness, lobby, the canteen and swimming pool. Their composition is influenced by existing contours and connected by a deck that allows water flow beneath.

Taking advantage from a different level, each house is made sure to gain a good view and surrounded by greenery. The central common lawn in the middle supports neighbor activities that relate to the unity of PEA’s staff.

Don’t rock me up Year 3 Final Project of Semester 1 Project Type Area Duration Location
Resort 100,800 sq.m. 1 month Manklang island, Rayong, Thailand
This project is under AMAN; the luxurious resort chain, which is outstanding in uniqueness of design; their prominent point is a combination between traditional architecture style of each place with a modern style that can attract both foreign and local tourist. Manklang is a private island in Aothai ocean, which full of gigantic rocks. Combining with the aim of relaxing by free body and spirit, ’Don’t rock me up’ becomes a main concept of the resort. Its effects in planning of each villa.

The isle is accessible by only speedboat. The pier is placed at the south of the island where is the deepest and less coral, so it is usable for 24 hours. According to the concept, Privacy is the first concern of planning. Every villas are made sure to gain good scenery, not only to see the ocean, but also the huge rock. Common spaces and facilities are placed in the central island by reason of accessibility. Besides planning of villas, Free spirit of the concept also reflects on trial that allows customers to walk around the island to receive the most iconic scenery of rocks.

The lobby is welcoming from the pier in the south of the island. The structure of gatewat and roof are made from bamboo that includes the sense of Thai-tropical in the design. It focuses on ventilation of a natural breeze. The 2nd floor walkway provides a great experience of visiting this resort.

The central common space is all-day dining and the main swimming pool. It is located in the middle between hills where is the most narrow, so guests can earn the experience of both sunrise and sunset while having a meal. The series of steps, lets people access the beach closer. Following the concept, free spirit is interpreted into the open-air

structure that made from bamboo, illustratation the word of freedom to be a curve of space and structure, symbolizing the traditional architecture style of material and details. Meanwhile, each villa maintains the sense of Thainess more with the triangular roof Thai vernacular architecture.

Urban 2 month Handan, Hebei, China
Handan is designed as a one of China’s national famous historical and cultural cities. The goal of the project is to make Handan become a well known city for its culture. Cultural sites will be protected with the best attention while being promoted as a tourist attraction. It will bring a good quality of life to local people and upgraded the local economy. Qi is a vital energy, the flow of which must be balanced for city health. Following the concept, The linkage of cultural and green area will be flown by improving physical route. The route connects several sites and 4 parks together. People will transport easier. The facility provides a generating energy pavement, adjustable and smart street furniture for supporting urban growth.

The project is designed to follow the aims of an owner who is developing a website child and parent online community. The owner had an experience in local life when he was young. But nowadays, there is no place that kids in Bangkok can get the same things as him. The owner concerns about kids in this generation who have to grow up in town with smartphone and television. The owner requires several functions that consist of the main building, parking lot, rice field with cafe, farm&nature zone, D. I. Y&science zone, spa&clamness zone, adventure&fun zone, co-working building with assembling place and mangrove zone.

Entrance Taking an advantage of double floor building, entrance is a tunnel first floor that can flow people freely. The excitement is provoked by a sequence of accessibility; people go through the dark, then be surprised by size of rice field and canal.
Amphitheater Stage by the river creates a marvelous experience of watching performance and the series of steps provides large seating bench.
Mangrove Following the requirement of owner, small mangrove is built for education. Seminar hall and learning room are linked by a nature trail.

Home AP New Gen Designer 2020 : New Breath of The City Project Type Area Duration Location
Condominium / Roof Garden 8,872 sq.m. 1 month Rama IV Road, Phrakhanong Subdistrict, Klongtoey District, Bangkok 10110
This project competition is a collaboration of AP Thailand and Chulalongkorn university. Students attend the program about 2 months for practicing the design thinking process which is a non-linear, iterative process that teams use to understand users, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test. Involving five phases—Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype and Test—it is most useful to tackle problems that are ill-defined or unknown. Home becomes the main concept of this project after interviewing and analysis users. All of the details and planning of the landscape are putting the sense of home.

Site analysis Locating at Rama IV Road, Phrakhanong Subdistrict, was an area of dense residential urban zones. Lacking green space or park in the area. Sunpath shows us the angle of sunlight, so the building does not block the light anytime. Another concern about the natural factor is wind velocity in forty-first floor by reason of height
HOW MIGHT WE
Users need insight Most interviewees suffer from people and the environment. Some of them relax by going out with friends, but some are not the same. They do not know how to decrease anxiety, then it affects their health as a depression.

The question of the problem is ’how can we help these people’ from this suffering. Home is an answer due to the replies of users. In common, people feel being embraced and the most are oneself when they are home.

The special point of this floor is the resident can take a panoramic view of Bangkok, So the planning and details are designed with the most concern about this point. The resident can see the sunrise and sunset relaxedly. The reclamation of self is the aim of the designer.

Brownfield and Cultural 110,400 sq.m. 1 month Paper Mill, Saeng Chu To Road, Ban Nuea, Muang Kanchanaburi, Kanchanaburi, 71000
Kanchanaburi is one of the ancient cities of Thailand. The paper mill was built up in 2481 during the Siamese Revolution from being a center of city development. At present, It has been left for a decade without manufacturing. Many organizations aim to revitalize this place. This proposal will show the guidelines for restoration and improvement that is based on on-site researches and small public hearing. The next page is a concept that emphasizes future vision. Meanwhile, It still preserves the historical site and supports the local lifestyle.

By 2050 the world will meet the global challenge of food shortage. To increase food security, we find alternative sources of food, edible insects. Insects are full of protein, the small area needed, and environmentally friendly. The concept of Chirp Chirp park is blending urban farming (Insect farming + vegetable farming) to park with the function of exercise, eat, and play. A strategy is starting the project as a prototype of an urban farming model in Bangkok. To introduce future protein resource (insects) to people and help them familiar with it and expanding the project to nearing districts by 10 years. In 30 years, expanding our project to many neighborhoods around urban areas, not only in Bangkok, will offer an alternative food source for people.

Main features include: Phra Khanong market: Place to sell food processed from insect powders made from cricket. Waste from market space can be composted to make fertilizers for food production and public park maintenance. Insect farm: Insect shelter mainly placed in insect farm zone and scatter all over others zone in the park. each tower can produce 228600 insects/month Local park: Playground equipment placed around the park developed from physical characteristic of insects. The purpose of design is to familiarize children with insects while playing. Planting design in local park area is using pollinator attracting plants and herb that edible for insect.
