Al Forno
Al Forno Offers Everything… and More!
Some days, you’re running around frantically in an attempt to get everything on your to-do list done. Other days, you have time to breathe, so you can explore and try new things. In both situations, you need a good meal to get you through the day. So where do you go? Answer: Al Forno. Whether you only have a few minutes to grab lunch or you have time to spare, you can expect to enjoy your food (and brighten your day!) at Al Forno.
Al Forno has an extensive menu with a wide range of both Italian and American options. We were excited to peruse the comprehensive menu, but fi rst we simply sat and watched the food connoisseurs craft their creations behind the front counter. It was really fun to see them lovingly knead pizza dough and sprinkle generous amounts of parmesan cheese on steaming dishes. And, of course, it made us hungry!
The restaurant’s menu has everything from subs, salads, pizza, and paninis to pasta, chicken, eggplant, and seafood. Abby and I debated for a while on what to sample (so many good choices!), but we fi nally agreed on one of Al Forno’s most popular appetizers-- eggplant rollatini ($8.95). A generous portion of breaded eggplant, the appetizer is smothered in a fl avorful marinara sauce and layered with ricotta, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses. If you love classic Italian sauce and cheese, then this starter is perfect for you! Abby and I fi nished the whole thing because we couldn’t stop ourselves. We usually have leftovers, but it was just too tasty to resist.
Once we took that fi rst bite, we had no chance… Next, Abby and I split the chicken francese ($17.95). It’s a lovely dish with subtle notes of lemon, butter, and white wine, and the boneless, egg-battered chicken breast is so tender that you can cut it with a butter knife. If you’re looking for a lighter meal, then you will be pleased with this one. The portion is certainly generous enough to fi ll you up, but the delicate dish will leave you satisfi ed, not bloated. Al Forno doesn’t just have delicious dinners, they also have great pizza! Abby and I ordered

a medium 14” white pizza ($17.95), which is billed as a choice for “cheese lovers,” so, of course, we had to try it... you can never have too much cheese! The pizza is baked with a rich blend of mozzarella, parmesan, and ricotta cheeses, which are accentuated by subtle notes of fresh garlic. It’s also sauceless, so you really get that full cheesy fl avor with that nice crispy crust. If you’re a cheese lover, then the menu doesn’t lie, this one is for you!
What’s an Italian meal without a cannoli? Abby and I shared one ($3.95) for dessert, and she summed it up best-- “This cream is like heaven’s fl uffy pillow.” The decadent cannoli is a glorious indulgence, sure to be your new guilty pleasure.
Al Forno offers everything-- quick take-out or casual dine-in service, authentic Italian cuisine or classic American fare. Any day and every day, you will fi nd great fl avors at Al Forno!
