to Point Betsie, you know that as soon as you walk away from the road and toward the Lake Michigan beach, the rest of the world sort of just fades away. I’m in this fairytale-looking place with incredibly colorful turquoise-blue water, hearing the waves lap on the shore and thinking of what it would have been like to traverse the waters out from Frankfort and around the northern coast of Michigan long ago.”
