Myrtle Beach has more than 100 fields, courts and complexes ready to host your next event. Our venues not only rival any across the country, but they’re accompanied by post-game activities and amenities unlike anywhere else.

The range of sporting events held at these venues runs the full spectrum from basketball to baseball to track and field to volleyball and softball.

Non-traditional events such as cornhole, cheer, dance, wrestling and gymnastics are growing and finding value in bringing their events to Myrtle Beach.

MYRTLE BEACH Atlantic Ocean & Intracoastal Waterway

The Grand Strand features 60 miles of pristine beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, which are the perfect place for beach sports such as surfing, fishing and more.

The nearby Intracoastal Waterway runs from Little River to Georgetown and can host events including power boating, jetskiing, water skiing, open water swimming and triathlons.

Doug Shaw Stadium & Ned Donkle Sports Complex

Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium boasts seating for up to 5,000 fans, a world-class outdoor track, Daktronics video board, field turf and press box.

Adjacent to the stadium is the Ned Donkle sports complex and Ashley Booth Field offering baseball/softball fields and a turf field that can host football, soccer or lacrosse.

Grand Park Athletic Complex

The Grand Park Athletic Complex, located near The Market Common in the heart of Myrtle Beach, is one of the most sought-after outdoor complexes on the East Coast. Its 9 lighted turf fields and 2 natural grass fields remain booked throughout the year with youth baseball, softball and soccer along with adult softball tournaments.

Additional amenities include a six-lane batting tunnel, fullservice concession stands and live streaming capabilities.

John T. Rhodes

Myrtle Beach Sports Center

With over 100,000 sq. ft. of space, the John T Rhodes Myrtle Beach Sports Center is the area’s premier indoor sports complex. Built in 2015, the venue has been designed to host court sports, wrestling, gymnastics, table tennis, pickleball, and other sports events as well as trade shows and conventions.

The space allows for 8 basketball or 16 volleyball courts and features hardwood flooring, configurable bleachers, a cafe and retail area, and great proximity to the beach and Broadway at the Beach entertainment complex.

Myrtle Beach Convention Center

Located in the same block as the sports center, the Myrtle Beach Convention Center plays host to events throughout the year including the Beach Ball Classic, Showstoppers Dance competitions and tons youth cheerleading, basketball and more. With more than 250,000 square feet of flexible space, the facility is adjoined with a 400-room Sheraton hotel. In all the convention center features, 100,800-square-foot Exhibit Hall, 17,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom and 20 additional meeting rooms and 30,000-square-foot Events Plaza.

Myrtle Beach Recreation Centers

City of Myrtle Beach facilities such as Crabtree Memorial Gymnasium, and Canal Street and Pepper Geddings recreation centers all feature full-sized basketball/volleyball courts capable of hosting sporting events. Pepper Geddings rec center also features a 25-yard, six-lane pool with a Colorado timing system.

The Ripken Experience

The Ripken Experience is one of the finest baseball facilities in the country, home to 9 fields; 5 youth diamonds and 4 regulation-sized diamonds.

Each field is inspired by designs of historic ballparks including Navin Field, The Polo Grounds, and Griffith Field. The fields also boast a popular synthetic playing surface used by many professional sports teams.

The facility also has an air-conditioned welcome center, which features a pro shop, two restaurants, a photography store, big screen TVs, video games, and more.

The Ripken Experience also offers training centers that include batting cages, practice fields, and pitching mounds.

Pelicans Ballpark

Home to Minor League Baseball’s Myrtle Beach Pelicans, a Chicago Cubs Class A affiliate, this facility has been voted as Top 10 in stadium experience for many years in a row.

The stadium can hold up to 5,200 fans and features nine luxury suites, two clubhouses and modern amenities for events of all types. It has hosted events such as NCAA baseball tournament regionals and super regionals, the popular Baseball at the Beach collegiate tournament and even MLB exhibition games.

North Myrtle Beach

North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex

North Myrtle Beach offers several sports tourism related complexes as well. The North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex is home to 8 lighted natural grass multipurpose fields perfect for soccer, lacrosse and other sports, as well as 6 lighted baseball/softball fields.

Also in the surrounding area you’ll find several large playground areas, a walking/jogging trail, a nature trail, a dog park and attractions including Shark Wake Park. This area is currently undergoing a major expansion expected to open in 2024.

J. Bryan Floyd Community Center

J. Bryan Floyd Recreation Center & Central Park can host soccer, baseball, softball, tennis, basketball, and more!

This 20-acre park is home to four fields that are used for soccer, baseball, and soccer, four tennis courts, four basketball courts (one indoor), a concession stand, 1/4 mile paved trail, a press box, restrooms, 12 picnic tables, and a recreation center with two playgrounds.

Coastal Carolina University Facilities Guide

As an NCAA Division I Sun Belt Conference member, the facilities at Coastal Carolina University offer great options for sporting events planners looking for top-notch facilities with proximity to Myrtle Beach. With the university having experienced extreme growth in the past two decades, many of the school’s facilities feature recent upgrades that make them a great choice for your event.

Benton Field at Brooks Stadium

Opened in 2003 and expanded to its current configuration in 2020, Brooks Stadium – Benton Field has a current seating capacity for 20,000 spectators.

The facility features a state-of-the-art video board along with press, club and suite levels. In 2015 the facility took on a new look as the “Surf Turf” as a teal artificial surface was installed.

CCU Soccer Stadium

Opened in 2002, the CCU Soccer Stadium features a fullsize, natural grass field with bleacher seating for 1,000 and an elevated standing room only area. The facility also features a press box, scoreboard, and KwikGoal Pro Premiere World Competition Goals and Elite Team Shelters.

The HTC Center

Opened in 2012, The HTC Center features a gymnasium with seating for 3,212 for basketball, graduations and concert events. The recreation portion of the facility has a climbing wall, 1/10 mile indoor track, weight lifting and cardio areas, workout classrooms and locker room facilities.

Springs Brooks Stadium

Opened in 2015, Spring Brooks Stadium is among the finest in collegiate baseball.

The facility features 2,500 seats, grass berms down the foul lines, a state-of-the-art video board and a boardwalk around the outfield that allows spectators to circumvent the field when leaving the stadium.

St. John Stadium

Renovated in 2014, the St. John Stadium, CCU’s softball facility is configured with 251 chairback sets for patrons along with convenient concession stands and restrooms.

It also features a press box, scoreboard, hospitality area, and an all-natural playing surface.

Stevens Tennis Complex

Opened in 2015, CCU’s Stevens Tennis Complex features 12 US Open-style courts surrounded by bleachers and rocking chairs.

The facility includes lighting, two scoreboards, state-of-the-art speaker system, restrooms and a 3,000-square foot clubhouse with offices, lockers rooms, and a lounge.
