two teacher recommendation forms. The Thornwood NHS Faculty Council reviews the applicants’ materials, evaluating the applications for evidence of the students’ achievements in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service and character. These four qualities are the cardinal pillars of the National Honor Society Organization across the country. Students who have proven themselves in these four areas are selected to be inducted. Once inducted, students must maintain their scholarship level with a 3.25 GPA, as well as continue to hold themselves in highly esteemed character without discipline issues. Additionally, NHS members suuport the school and community by serving at least 30 hours per year that they are a member of the organization. Last year, the Thornwood NHS served over 2,000 hours, with many members exceeding 50 and 100 hours individually. The Thornwood National Honor Society partners with Life Source to hold three blood drives per year, and organizes other service events as well. To learn more about the National Honor Society, visit www.nhs.us.

Deadline for VFW’s Youth Scholarship Competitions is Fast Approaching Your local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post is still accepting entries for the 2017-2018 VFW Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen scholarship competitions. The deadline for student entries in both contests is October 31st. The VFW’s scholarship competitions are dedicated to promoting patriotism among America’s youth. Students are asked to submit an essay in response to a question or statement on a subject that encourages them to consider how democratic ideals and principles apply to their lives. Each year the VFW awards more than $3 million in scholarships and awards to middle and high school students who participate in the two competitions. This year’s Voice of Democracy theme is “American History: Our Hope for the Future.” The Voice of Democracy scholarship

ANNA M. CAISON The article I had planned on submitting didn’t seem relevant after waking up Monday morning to the news of Sunday evening’s mass shooting in Las Vegas. Tuesday and Wednesday were filled with political finger pointing of who is to blame for Sunday’s shooting. Stressed at the downward spiral of our nation, I went to bed praying, “Lord, what words of encouragement would you have me to write to your people?” I woke up this morning with the following song playing in my mind. “My Hallelujah belongs to You; My Hallelujah belongs to You; My Hallelujah belongs to You. “You deserve it; You deserve it; You deserve it. “All of the Glory belongs to You; All of the Glory belongs to You; All of the Glory belongs to You. “You deserve it; You deserve it; You deserve it. “Say Hallelujah, Hallelujah. All the glory,

Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the Hammond Port Authority are excited to announce the commencement of construction on the Calumet Avenue Bridge. Beginning Friday, October 6th, a small portion of the George Lake Trail from the Environmental Education Center south to the 125th Trail will be closed for construction. The crosswalk on the west side of 125th Street and the small parking lot on the east side of 125th and Calumet Avenue will also close as a safety precaution. The remainder of trails and parking lots will remain open until further notice. The launch ramp is also scheduled to remain open until the end of the season. TOPS Group Helps Members Maintain Weight Loss

Lost & Found

Wanted Wanted: Diabetic Test Strips Freestyle Lite One Touch Accu-Chek Contour and Others, Must be sealed, unopened, unexpired, unused boxes. 708-474-3941

struggled with losing weight but often gained it back. She added that by becoming part of TOPS, it kept her on track. Many struggle with yo-yo dieting when losing weight, which can cause dieters to gain more weight than they lost. Weight loss experts suggest that the secret to losing weight and keeping it off forever is changing one’s diet forever. TOPS was the answer for former Leader, Juanita Hester, a resident who lives in Dolton. Though Hester remains a current member, she stated that she struggled with weight issues when she first came on board with the program, but she was determined to lose weight. “When I started with TOPS, I weighed 250 pounds. I was extremely overweight. After joining, I changed my eating habits, and I learned to choose better foods, instead of going on crash diets,” she said. Studies show that in many cases, uncontrolled weight gain often leads to diabetes and high blood pressure. As a means to keep serious health issues in check, patients are advised by their physician to attain and keep a healthy weight. People seeking to lose weight should have access to proper weight loss knowledge. TOP group members learn how to control high sugar levels and get their blood pressure down by maintaining a sensible diet and by reducing their daily caloric intake. “The most important thing to take away about TOPS is that it is a support group that teaches its members about portion and size control and sodium intake. Be cautious of foods with high sodium content. Special emphasis is placed on exercise, eating and drinking sensibly,” Hester recommended.

ARLO KALLEMEYN Cook County government officials are voting this week to continue to enforce the huge pop-tax increase on hardworking residents. It’s not enough that we pay the highest sales tax in the country. Now Cook County is going after individual items that we all buy every single week. Cook County now charges a new, penny-per-ounce beverage tax on more than 1,000 different products. This tax is different than the sales tax. Cook County found a way to add a tax that will add up even faster than sales tax. Hundreds of beverages—pop, sports drinks, juice drinks, ice teas, lemonades, even flavored waters and beverages with zero calories—will be hit with tax rates of as much as 30% to 67%. Prices will jump even higher when you add on the existing state and local sales taxes on beverages. Do you know that the price of a 2-liter will almost double after this tax goes through? Cook County elected officials will say that good jobs are the most important aspect of a healthy economy. Why would they vote for a tax that will result in good jobs disappearing from Cook County? Why would they drive more people out of Cook County to shop in Indiana? It won’t stop with the beverage tax. They are probably thinking up new taxes right now. What’s next I wonder? Will they tax the ounces of cereal in your favorite box of corn flakes? Or the ounces of toothpaste in the tube? You can’t even get the last ounce of toothpaste out of the tube. Will they give us a tax rebate for the unused ounce that we didn’t use? Unless we take a stand my friends, we will soon be taxed to death. If you are tired of being taxed to death, please contact a Cook County Commissioner and tell them to CAN THE TAX! Debra Simms – Phone 312-603-6381 or 708-371-4251 Email: dsims@cookcountygov.com Stanley Moore – Phone 773-783-2412 Email: stanley.moore2@cookcountyil.gov THE PHILADELPHIA STORY The City of Philadelphia recently implemented a similar tax and here is what happened. In just four short months, Philadelphia businesses, consumers and workers have experienced economic losses far greater than originally predicted. Beverage sales plummeted as much as 50 percent at some local groceries and local beverage distributors reported up to a 45 percent decline in sales, while sales increased at retail outlets just outside Philadelphia city lines. The equivalent of more than 400 jobs have been lost through layoffs and cutbacks in hours at local retailers and restaurants. Arlo Kallemeyn Shopper Publisher and big fan of no new taxes.

By Patricia Muhammad The 40s-and-beyond age group knows all too well the ups and down of losing weight and the battle to keep it off, but it is also true that this same age group is more apt to get rid of the unwanted pounds when they have a good support system. Taking Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) is a national weight loss support group that has helped millions of people across the country shed weight. Several local TOPS networks are reaching out to recruit new members in Dolton, Lansing, Thornton, and Calumet City. Bobbie Ollie, a nine-year member and Dolton TOPS leader, recommends the program for those trying to lose weight because the support group is designed to help anyone who wants to get rid of unwanted pounds. “This program is very beneficial for everyone. For me, I started gaining weight after I retired and I thought I needed to do something. TOPS was the first program that I tried to lose weight, and it worked for me,” she said. The group has been around for more than four decades, and locally, members meet either on Wednesdays or Thursdays for one hour at local churches to discuss their weight loss efforts and concerns. TOPS’ website, www.tops.com informs those seeking to lose weight that joining the program does not necessarily guarantee success but individual weight loss is due in part by effort and determination. Challenged with the ups and down of weight loss (yo-yo dieting), Lynn C. of Roseville, Minnesota lost 161 pounds after joining TOPS. In a comment made on the TOPS website, Lynn disclosed how she

State Water Utility Takes Aim at Water Infrastructure Education School is in session again and Indiana American Water, the state’s largest investor-owned water utility, has launched The71Percent.org, a new website to help educate residents throughout Indiana on water and wastewater issues, infrastructure, conservation, and best practices. Indiana American Water is taking action to keep the public informed on how everyone can do their part to keep waterways clean and protect the future of Indiana’s water supply and infrastructure. “We are excited to launch this new website to help educate our residents and equip teachers with classroom materials about everything water,” said Deborah Dewey, Indiana American Water president. “There is so much valuable information to share with our customers and

Automobiles

residents throughout the country about our waterways, from how fish are affected by water pollution to soil’s role in water conservation.” The site serves as an educational tool and asset for anyone with a desire to learn more about water. Its name references the fact that 71 percent of the Earth’s surface is covered with water. Repair or “As-Is”? MIKE BUDER the wall will take $10 in material and an hour on a Saturday and that hole is history. But, when the buyer sees that hole, “it’s a $500 hole.” Selling a home “asis” has the advantage of relieving the seller of the hassle of having to fix stuff, and if the seller lives far away the hassle factor can be substantial. But there is a cost. In addition to the buyer overestimating the expense of doing repairs, there is another consideration. Buyers don’t seem to mind spending money on things they can see—like remodeling a kitchen or buying new furniture. But doing repairs to systems or fixing structure issues might just send them running to find another place needing less work. If you are looking to buy or sell real estate, call Mike Buder at RE/ MAX 2000 (708) 418-4444; E-mail: mikebuder@ remax.net; Website: w w w. B u d e r H o m e s . com or Facebook Friend request Mike Buder. Your comments are always welcome. Mike Buder A local Christian Businessman

Last week, I listed a home that looked terrific, but the central air had come to the end of its functional life. Oh, it powered on with its loud, grinding motor, but it’s cooling days were obviously over. I called out two of the area’s HVAC experts to take a look. I received two competing bids to replace the central air compressor. The contractor bids where enough money to make the seller think about not replacing the unit and just selling the home with the AC “as-is”, with a disclosure that the unit was dubious. That is an option. Doing the work and replacing the AC unit will cost the seller about $2,800. But my concern was that buyers, once they realized they would have to repair or replace the unit, would deduct a lot more than that from their offer. Over the years, I’ve noticed that most buyers over-estimate what it will cost to fix anything that needs to be repaired or replaced in a home that they are considering buying. I will often use the example of the bedroom doorknob that put a hole in the drywall. The seller knows that to repair

Thornton Township employees went down to Houston to deliver supplies to the devastated areas in the 5th ward. Along with various other organizations and municipalities such as Lansing, Riverdale, Phoenix and South Holland, they provided supplies in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, which included water, diapers, baby formula, blankets and hygiene products. A few years ago, Thornton Township also helped during the Flint, Michigan water crisis. “With the sheer devastation of the storm, we wanted to do something to help the thousands of people in need,” said Frank M. Zuccarelli. “Our hearts and prayers are with the families. Thornton Township residents generously donated needed supplies to our four township locations.” The donation was for Restoration Square Full Gospel Baptist Cathedral in northeast Houston. Inside the cavernous worship hall, co-pastor Tracy Glenn helped sort the necessities onto long tables. Of the 150 or so people in Restoration Square, about 10 percent had lost their homes, Glenn said. For the sixth time in less than a month, she was using her church to hand out supplies. “It’s definitely appreciated,” said Glenn. “The donations and love they brought with them, helping us unload, getting items to the people in the community — we’re grateful.” Six township employees went on the trip including Thornton Township communication manager Ernst Lamothe Jr., Troy O’Quin, Josh Owen, Marshun Tolbert and Julian Wilson. “We saw some blocks (where the homes were) completely devastated,” Lamothe Jr. said. “The water line was halfway up the houses and there was a lot of debris out front. Then two or three blocks over, everything was okay.” Hurricane Harvey caused unprecedented and catastrophic flooding in southeastern Texas. In a four-day period, many areas received more than 40 inches of rain as the storm system traveled over eastern Texas and adjacent waters. Harvey is the wettest tropical cyclone on record in the United States. The resulting floods inundated hundreds of thousands of homes, displaced more than 30,000 people, and prompted more than 13,000 rescues. With people being skeptical of whether their entire Red Cross Donations are going to the cause, or if FEMA is reacting quickly enough, Thornton Township wanted to make sure the money and donations went directly to residents. “All the money donated by individuals for the hurricane relief went 100 percent to the relief—and people appreciate that,” said Lamothe Jr.

Depression: How Does It Differ From Occasional Sadness? Everyone experiences sadness from time to time, but depression is more than occasional sadness. Depression is characterized by extreme sadness or loss of interest that lasts more than several days. If untreated, depression can have harmful effects on the mind and body. It can cause disruptions to daily life, and research shows that it may be linked to various chronic illnesses. “Depression is one of the most Stainless steel 25 dia 1 deep serving tray, make the largest pizza in town, $18 obo. 708-333-9520 Auto tire rim 14 dia, black, like new, $12; 1/2 gal. gasoline containers with safety features, new $4 ea. 708-333-9520

unrecognized and untreated conditions in our society. The first step in changing this is raising awareness and making resources available, says Dr. Natalie Dattilo, clinical psychologist. Symptoms of depression can include lack of interest and pleasure in daily activities, significant weight loss or gain, difficulty or excessive sleeping, lack of energy, problems concentrating, feelings of worthlessness or excessive guilt, and

possibly recurrent thoughts of death or suicide. Contrary to popular belief, people with depression cannot simply “snap out of it and feel better right away. Unexpressed feelings and concerns accompanied by a sense of isolation can seem untreatable, but even severe cases can be effectively treated. Acknowledgement and support from family, friends and mental health providers can make a big difference.

Dr. Dattilo agrees. “The good news here is that depression is treatable, and effective treatments are available in our community. Access to care is important, but access to quality care is critical. Psychologists are trained to recognize depression symptoms, assess the severity of those symptoms, and recommend the most effective course of treatment. Anyone can take an anonymous depression screening online at

Heart Smart Recently I was with folks in the middle of a marathon of suffering. New challenges and complications routinely pop up in their path. I’ve said, “Lord, why have you given them so much to carry? How much more can they bear?” God has not chosen to remove their sufferings, though we’ve prayed for a miracle. Yet I’ve been struck afresh by their abiding trust in God, their capacity for compassion and care for others, their capacity for gratitude, their capacity to laugh and to enjoy God’s little and not-solittle gifts in life. It dawned on me later how much I enjoyed just hanging out with them – so much so that I stayed far longer than I intended. How does such beauty of spirit emerge from such suffering? Why not bitterness instead? They themselves are God’s miracle. I do not mean to make light of their sufferings, of how difficult and pain-filled their journey is. However, they are walking

evidence of the life-giving power and grace of Jesus Christ. They call to mind the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:7-10: “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; … struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.” Meanwhile, I continue to pray for relief and healing. And I look forward to the day “there will be no more… mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Revelation 21:4b); the day when King Jesus “will wipe every tear from [our] eyes” (Revelation 21:4a). BOB KRYGSHELD As an investor, you don’t have to “cross the ocean blue,” as Columbus did, to find opportunities—but it may be a good idea to put some of your money to work outside the United States. The chief reason for investing internationally is diversification. If you only invest in U.S. companies, you might do well when the U.S. markets are soaring, as has happened in recent years. But when the inevitable downturn happens, and you’re totally concentrated in U.S. stocks, your portfolio will probably take a hit. At the same time, however, other regions of the world might be doing considerably better than the U.S. markets—and if you had put some of your investment holdings in these regions, you might at least blunt some of the effects of the down market here. Of course, it’s also a good idea to diversify among different asset classes, so, in addition to investing in U.S. and international stocks, you’ll want to own bonds, government securities and other investment vehicles. (While diversification can help reduce the effects of volatility, it can’t guarantee a profit or protect against loss.) International investments, like all investments, will fluctuate in value. But they also have other characteristics and risks to consider, such as these: • Currency fluctuations—The U.S. dollar rises and falls in relation to the currencies of other countries. Sometimes, these movements can work in your favor, but sometimes not. A strengthening dollar typically lowers returns from international investments because companies based overseas do business in a foreign currency, and the higher value of the dollar reduces the prices, measured in dollars, of individual shares of these companies’ stocks. The opposite has happened in 2017, when the weaker dollar has helped increase returns from international investments. • Political risks—When you invest internationally, you’re not just investing in foreign companies—you’re also essentially investing in the legal and economic systems of countries in which those companies do business. Political instability or changes in laws and regulations can create additional risks—but may also provide potentially positive returns for investors. • Social and economic risks—It is not always easy for investors to understand all the economic and social factors that influence markets in the U.S.—and it’s even more challenging with foreign markets. U.S. markets are now worth less than half of the total world markets, and growth in the rest of the world is likely to keep expanding the number of global opportunities. You can take advantage of that global growth by putting part of your portfolio into developed and emerging markets. In any case, given the more complex nature of international investing, you’ll want to consult with a financial professional before taking action. If it turns out that international investments are appropriate for your needs, you should certainly consider going global. ANNA CONIGLIO, ND Your skin is a mirror of your gut, and is the largest organ in our body. What is Eczema? Eczema comes in many forms, but is mainly recognized by its red, itchy rash, known as atopic dermatitis. Eczema is a sign that your body is overreacting to something attacking you, from the outside or the inside. Two primary causes: 1) Leaky Gut creates a low-grade inflammation in reaction to food particles that literally leak through the gut wall. This causes food sensitivities, especially to gluten, dairy and grains, which are the biggest food causes of eczema. Leaky Gut also triggers many other health problems including fatigue, headaches, brain fog, sinus problems, irritable bowel, and skin conditions. 2) Abnormal gut flora, called dysbiosis, occurs when there is an imbalance of good and bad bacteria in the gut. Yeast overgrowth is a common cause of eczema. It can be caused by a high-sugar, refined carb, processed diet. In addition, there are other factors such as chemicals, lotions, and detergents that can also trigger eczema. Many people don’t make the connection between gut issues and immunity. Over 70% of your immune system resides in your gut. Too many antibiotics, ibuprofen, infections, and stress cause changes in the

intestinal tract, allowing food particles to enter in the bloodstream and creating inflammation. The conventional treatment approach is just a short-term solution that fails to address the root cause of eczema, merely suppressing the symptoms. The Naturopathic approach looks at a disease’s root cause. Food is medicine. Bad food will make us sick. Good food is good medicine that will prevent and even cure disease. All of this means that clearing up skin issues requires more than just topical treatment. A Naturopathic approach will be able to assist you in taking measures that will further support your body, bringing back the balance necessary for healthy skin. If you or someone you love suffers from eczema and found the conventional route did not work, don’t give up. Try a personalized approach designed for each person’s unique health needs. South Suburban College will be hosting an Open House for its Paralegal Program on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., at their Oak Forest Center in Room 5190. Information will be provided about SSC’s Paralegal/ Legal Assistant curriculum, including the Associate Degree and certificate programs. In addition, former students from the program, working as paralegals, will be present to answer questions. The curriculum prepares students to work in a variety of legal environments including civil and criminal litigation, insurance, banking, public and governmental agencies, law offices and corporate legal departments. Emphasis is placed on the development of core skills in legal research and writing techniques including compilation and analysis of data, understanding legal vocabulary, law office technology, and preparation of legal documents. “Whether you are looking for a change in your career path or looking to begin a career, this is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has an interest in the law,” says Jason Cieslik, J.D., Coordinator for the Paralegal Studies Program. Indiana Dunes Seeks National Park Status

WOODROW WILCOX On September 29, 2017, I wrote a letter to a woman to explain to her that I could not help her husband with a medical bill problem. Over a year ago, the husband visited our Valparaiso office. Our agent there took the time to listen to him and explain some options for him to consider. He did not return to our office. Instead, he signed for insurance online. The wife visited our Valparaiso office earlier this year. Our agent listened to her and explained her options regarding Medicare supplement insurance. She let us help her select and apply for insurance. Then, when the husband had a medical bill problem, the wife brought papers to our office and asked us to help her husband with his problem. In my letter to the wife, I explained that our agency could help her with a medical bill problem, but not her husband. He signed for a policy without using our agency. He would need to contact the insurance company directly or contact whoever acted as an agent

to help him apply for his insurance policy. Insurance companies and agents sign contracts to assure compliance with federal privacy protection law and regulation. This protects the clients, the agents, and insurance companies from disclosure of personal health information. So, when you do apply for insurance, I suggest that you make sure that the agent or agency you use is ready and willing to help you with any insurance claims problem that might arise. Otherwise, your financial health might take a turn for the worse. Note: Woodrow Wilcox is the senior medical bill case worker at Senior Care Insurance Services in Merrillville, Indiana. He has helped clients of that insurance agency save over one million dollars by fighting mistakes and fraud in the Medicare system. He wrote the book SOLVING MEDICARE PROBLEM$ (www. SolvingMedicareProblems. com) and posts articles at www.WoodrowWilcox.com.

On October 4, 2017 the House Committee on Natural Resources approved legislation to designate the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore as a National Park. The measure is now referred to the full House and is expected to be considered in the coming months. H.R. 1488, sponsored by Congressman Pete Visclosky, would retitle the “Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore” as the “Indiana Dunes National Park.” The designation would create the first National Park in Indiana, and the 60th National Park in the United States. The initial effort to name this area as a National Park began in 1916 under the first Director of the National Park Service, Mr. Stephen Mather. The National Park designation would provide greater recognition of this august Northwest Indiana attraction with the intent of drawing more visitors to the region and stimulating the local economy. Congresswoman Jackie Walorski stated, “The Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is a treasured source of natural beauty and outdoor recreation for not just Hoosier families but all Americans. Making it the first National Park in Indiana will strengthen our state’s economy by drawing more tourists from around the country and boosting the outdoor recreation industry that is so vital to our region. I look forward to voting for this bipartisan bill on the House floor.”

Real Estate Questions & Answers CATHY & JIM HIGGINS Question: We are in our mid 20’s and have been married for a few months. We are ready to purchase a home. Someone advised us that we should purchase a home for near the maximum amount of our preapproval which is $325,000. What do you suggest? Answer: You did not mention who gave you that advice, but we do not know of any reputable Real estate or Mortgage professional who would tell you that! When considering a home purchase, your family budget must take first priority. Although your home is very important, there is more to life than a home. How about being able to purchase the right things for your family? How about having a little extra cash to enjoy life? How about the necessity of having savings for an emergency or to reward yourself once in a while for all your hard work? Money problems are very stressful. You were approved for that amount based on your income and debts. Sounds like you are in a pretty good financial position. Why mess that up? Remember

that there is a fine line between need and desire. You need to sit down with your spouse and make a family budget. Decide which home mortgage payment fits that budget. Get advice from your parents and a financial adviser. Don’t take advice from anyone unless they are qualified to make those financial suggestions. Ask your lender what price home fits that monthly payment. Then look at homes in that price range. Keep in mind that a house payment includes homeowners insurance, a tax bill, utilities and possible mortgage insurance. If you do not like the homes you see in that price range, then do what your parents and grandparents did…save more money! E-mail us your Real estate questions at: Cathyah@aol.com. with magical prospects Aaron and Tamara, enter the Magisterium. Call decides to try to make the best of the situation. Maybe magic isn’t all bad and he can learn to control his for the better. While other students practice wielding the elements in offensive and defensive ways, Call, Tamara, and Aaron are subjected to hours and hours of the same task: separating multicolored sand into differents piles using only their minds. Little did they know that Master Rufus was preparing them in ways they could never have comprehended. The Iron Trial is a fantastic story with several similarities to the “Harry Potter” series that make it an easy readalike for those searching for something akin to Hogwarts and its students. Callum, Tamara, and Aaron could easily switch places with Harry, Hermione, and Ron. There’s so much more to the story that I would like to share, but The Iron Trial is definitely overflowing in twists, turns, and unexpected revelations. Evil tend to be more frightening when it is attached to the unknown, which Black & Clare showcase very well in this first installment of the “Magisterium” series.

BRANDI SMITS The Iron Trial by Holly Black & Cassandra Clare In Callum’s world, magic is real. More importantly, magic is dangerous. Some kids demonstrate their abilities early while others need help to completely realize their power. This is the basis of the Iron Trial. During the trial, kids will encounter several tests to see if they are indeed magical. Kids who succeed are accepted into the Magisterium where they will be trained further on the different elements of magic. In the end, the kids will become official mages and assist in the war against the evil mage called the Enemy of Death. Call has been warned by his father over and over again how important it is for him to fail the Iron Trial. You see, magic killed Call’s mother. And neither of them want magic to affect them is such a way ever again. On the day of the Iron Trial, Call does the opposite of what is asked of him. Every test put before him went terribly wrong. Call was sure that he was going to be passed over by the Magisterium and would be able to go home with his dad. Unfortunately Call’s name is called in the first round of selection by Master Rufus. Call’s father pleads to take Call home, but it is no use. Call, along
