Seton Academy continues its proud tradition of athletic performance under the direction of our new Athletic Director for 2015, Mr. Scott Pallay. Mr. Pallay, a resident of South Holland since 1968, was in the first class of the South Holland grade school students to actually attend and graduate elementary school from Coolidge in 1969. As a member of the first graduating class from Thornwood High School, class of 1973, he was the very first Varsity Captain of Thornwood’s Basketball team scoring the first Varsity basket in the current Thornwood Fieldhouse. Scott didn’t just work on the court but he also was the first Sports Editor of both Thornwood’s school newspaper and yearbook only to go onto Graduating from Bradley University in Peoria, IL with a B.S. in Physical Education. Having worked in the insurance business for over 36 years his life-long goal came to be as he stepped up to the position of Athletic Director at Seton Academy. Mr. Pallay is not new to Seton as he has been the girls’ softball and volleyball since 2013. He is a certified coach by the Illinois High School Association via the American Sport Education Program in 2013 and proudly is married, with two children ages 20 and 18. His goal as Athletic Director is to oversee and continue the fine tradition of athletic performance that Seton has demonstrated over the years, with a special emphasis to ensure Girls Sports are given ALL the same opportunities as the Boys Sports offered at the school.
SSC Earns Approval South Suburban College (SSC) is pleased to announce that Gateways to Opportunity has approved South Suburban College as an entitled institution for the ECE Credentials, levels 2 and 3. As an entitled institution, students at SSC will now have the opportunity to qualify for these credentials as they take courses or complete their degree through the college’s Teacher Aide/Child Development Program. SSC is entitled for these Gateways to Opportunity Credentials through 2019. Gate w ay s to O ppor t u n it y, I l l i noi s P rofe s sion a l Development System, is designed to provide guidance, support and recognition to practitioners who serve children and families in Illinois. SSC is among a select group of institutions in Illinois to be entitled for the Gateways to Opportunity Credentials. All Gateways to Opportunity Credent ia ls have competencies t hat ref lect mu lt iple professional standards, including National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the Illinois Professional Teaching Standards. The Teacher Aide/Child Development faculty at SSC worked diligently to align their courses with the Gateways to Opportunity competencies. SSC’s Teacher Aide/Child Development Program awards short-term certificates and an Associate Degree track, as well as preparing students for transfer to four-year colleges and universities. The program combines hands-on application and classroom experience using up-to-date curriculum, texts and new sources for f ield work. Two semester internships also provide students with valuable practical field experience. Admission requirements are detailed in the college catalog and online at www.ssc.edu. All of the Teacher Aide/Child Development instructors are educators with real experience, and all are credentialed with Masters or Doctorate Degrees. Gateways to Opportunity is administered by the Illinois Net work of Child Care Resource & Referra l Agencies (INCCRRA). Paws Volunteer Knows Her Passion A t y pic a l p a r ent h a s c er t a i n priorities such as their job and family. Some parents are involved in school committees and student athletics. A Crown Point mother balances similar duties along with driving 1-3 days a week to Lakeshore PAWS in Valparaiso to maintain another top priority, the animals. Julie Carlin, a regular volunteer of almost two years at Lakeshore PAWS, sa id she ha s a lways had a n i ma ls while grow ing up. She has worked many adoption events, events with veterinarians and has fostered several dogs. On top of dedicating her time to the animals, Carlin runs her own bakery called Sugar & Sass Bakery, she is a method instructor for Wilton Baking Supplies and does work with a custom home builder. Carlin said she lives five minutes away from Lake County animal control, but she understands that the animals need more attent ion at La keshore PAWS. “I try to make this a top priority because I know the dogs need it,” Carlin said. “There are so many dogs sitting there waiting for the attention they deserve.” Carlin currently has three dogs and one cat, including Heidi, a pit bull she is currently fostering. She said she fosters as much as possible to try and give each dog a chance. At an animal rescue event hosted by t he C a mpa g n a Ac ademy a nd

to hear that kids were donating their birthday money to help save animals. “If more people would be willing to foster, they would save more dogs,” Carlin said. Carlin makes sure she instills the same values while raising her son. She said that he and his friend have been involved with Lakeshore PAWS as well. Carlin said she is glad to see that people are taking notice to what Lakeshore PAWS is doing for the area.
Compassionate Canines on Feb. 21, Carlin and Lakeshore PAWS volunteers showcased Heidi to potential adopters. “Any event that we do is to get the word out about La keshore PAWS,” Carlin said. Ca rl i n sa id t he event wa s t he furthest Lakeshore PAWS has really traveled to get their name out, which shows the growth of the organization. Carlin said she has seen the animal care community grow throughout her time volunteering. She was astounded

Books and Lunch with the Calumet City Chamber Each of the 32 members and guests who came to the Calumet City Public Library for the Calumet City Chamber Membership Meeting on Wednesday February 25th, 2015 was a cheerleader for the city! Prior to the remarks by Chicago Southland Chamber CEO David Hinderliter, each person was asked to give a 30 second 'commercial' on his or her business or service by Chamber Director and Program Chair, (L-R) Allen Babiarz—Chamber President; Bryan Swanson—Economic De(L-R) James Gigliotti—City Inspections; Jane Rowland—Library; Denise Rzonca— velopment; Denise & Joe Rzonca with grandson Jacob; Bill Hasse— Chris Martin. As each got up Economic Development; Leni Wosczynski—Aderman; Charles Dockery—Memorial Park Chamber member; and David Hinterliter—Southland Chamber CEO. and gave their personal over- District. view, it was always with a complimentary Calumet City twist. From the Director of the Calumet City Public Library Jane Rowland, to Dorian Menchaca, owner of Don Pedro's Restaurant to William Hasse to name just a few, and all had praise for the city and how they came to be there. In Hasse's case, his business had been on State Line and Lincoln for generations! Dorian's Dad Alphonse started Don Pedro's decades ago and the library, which has moved several times in 75 years, is now in a beautiful brand new facility right behind he new Police station just north of Pulaski Road. New to the Chamber as of that day was Calumet City resident and educator George Grenchick, an online and print fan of the City! The Calumet City Chamber itself has been serving the businesses of Calumet City and it's environs since 1934 and has existed and has thrived seamlessly through to the present. Relative 'newcomers' to the City is the Simon/River Oaks Shopping Center, 159th and Torrence Avenue, in place since 1965. Michelle Simmons, Advertising and marketing executive for Simon along with Shauna R. Williams, Store Leader of J.C. Penney's had high praise for Calumet City and the consumers who grace their stores. Member, Seton Academy Development Director Kathy Dujsik, had high praise for guest Dave Holmberg of the Calumet Area Industrial Commission for their collaboration which found job interviews and opportunities for Seton students. At the end of the meeting, "I'd call this a 'love in,'" noted Chris Martin of State Farm who acted as emcee for the event. "It was win-win for everyone-especially Calumet City! Calumet City Mayor Michelle Markiewicz-Qualkinbush, is always one of the Chamber’s biggest fans, and supports the Chamber in many valuable ways. How Great God Is! ANNA M. CAISON For the second time in my life I had the glorious opportunity to shovel snow. Standing under the night sky with shovel in hand I ga zed up at the t w ink ling stars thoughtfully placed in a navy blue heaven. “Oh Lord, what a beautiful world you gave us to enjoy,” I spoke aloud. “How marvelous are the wondrous beauty of the universe and the earth draped in glistening white snow. “ As I began to shovel the words of an old hymn came to mind. It was here in the cool crispness of the evening I communed with the Lord.
Refrain: Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee; How great Thou art, how great Thou art! Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee; How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

Thornton Township Celebrates Black History Month
Residents of Thornton Township came together for a celebration of African history during the annual Black Histor y Mont h progra m sponsored by t he tow nship. The program entitled, Beyond the Village and featured performances by the Najwa Dance Corps, and Generation Men. Thornton Township began its Black History Program in 2004. Dr. Jerry Weems, director the township’s youth and family services said Township Supervisor Frank Zuccarelli who was unable to attend consistent ly reaf f irms his commitment to help improve the lives of African Americans and people of all cultures through the township’s many social service programs. “Remember that the issues that are important to us are important to him,” Weems said. The Generation Men Stepping Group inspired t he audience with their positive message for youth performed through words and movement. The students from Thornton Township High School came together to make a positive difference in the community. Generation Men focuses on four components - leadership, the step team, community service and tutoring. Marvell Craig became involved in the group during his freshman year and said it has been a wonderful experience working to help and encourage other young men. Imani Ali said the group helped him turn his life around. He first learned of it through their sponsor Mr. Powell during Saturday detention and decided to become involved. Ali said it has made all the difference. Kenyan Towns agreed that becoming involved with Generation Men and reaching out to others who might need some encouragement has been very rewarding. Keynote speaker Dr. Stanley Howard founded and serves as president of the Law and Civics Reading and Writing Institute, an education think tank whose mission is to conduct interdisciplinary research on children and learning especially for at risk children. He has focused on learning and meeting the needs of black males from birth through 12th grade. He is also author of Righting America’s Wrongs: A Best Practices Manual for Educating Black Male Youth. During his address Howard said an African proverb asks how are the children? To determine this he said you have to look at the health of the village thinking primarily in terms of the children. Ask yourself what happens when the village is unhealthy and when speaking of the village think of it in a global perspective not just community because it has worldwide implications. Howard said all children should be educated in a 21st Century Educational model, but often at-risk black children are educated in the 19th centur y educationa l model. Whereas the 21st century model teaches children how to think, the 19th century model emphasizes what to think. As a result you have children who can’t read and write he said. According to Howard fostering the imagination of the children will help to heal the village. “A village can’t heal if it can’t imagine. Frederick Douglas said, ‘It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men’,” Howard said. Children have imagination and they disrespect the impossible, but that imagination can be taken away at a young age. That is why it is important to foster children at a very young age. “If there are 100 children in a village and one is sick the village is sick,” Howard said. He challenged his audience. “Imagine that you and all of your friends and loved ones have made a commitment to prepare yourself to be healed so that you can help the children have a bright 21st century vision so that they can imagine and dream the way they want to. Make that commitment because all children matter,” he said. For sale: Tar Kettle with burner, good condition. $2000 obo. 312-343-5903

‘People Putting Children First’ in District 205
District 205 is the High School District that includes Thornwood in South Holland, Thornridge in Dolton, and Thornton in Harvey. District 205 is governed by a locally elected School Board. This means that unlike Chicago, where the school board is appointed by the mayor, District 205 School Board is elected by voters living within the District boundaries. After individuals are elected to the board, these individuals make decisions on how to manage the administration of the faculty, students services, staff, vendors, and the $118 million dollar budget that the residents entrust to them. The majority of these dollars are made up of property taxes that homeowners, renters and businesses’ pay each year. The next election in April has several seats up for election. The election is approximately one month away - on Tuesday April 7, 2015. Looking ahead to the importance of a board that supports the students first, a group of five community members has come together to run as a unified slate named ‘People Putting Children First.’ This group includes 2 former teachers, parents of high-achieving District 205 students, present school board members, and business leaders. This group of concerned citizens has been endorsed by Thornton Township Supervisor - Frank M. Zuccarelli, the Heritage Community Party of South Holland, as well as South Holland Mayor Don A. De Graff. More endorsements from local elected officials are expected and will be forthcoming in future press releases. The five individuals on the slate include: Ray Banks, Albert Butler Jr., (L-R) Albert Butler, Sarah Chiestder, Annette Whittington, Nina Graham, Ray Banks form slate for District 205 School Board. Sarah Chiestder, Nina Graham, and Annette Whittington. This slate is represented by the towns of South Holland, Dolton and Harvey - the largest towns that make up District 205. There will be a ‘Meet Your Candidates Night’ at Buffalo Wild Wings in Homewood on Friday March 6 from 3:30 to 6:30 pm. You are cordially invited to this event to meet the candidates and hear their plans for YOUR high school district. For sale: Green lee roll around conduit bender, 1/2” +3/4” +1” $200. 708-2851107

c onduc t s t he cla s s i n a m a n ner t h at m a ke s having fun nearly impossible. Every one of us laughs at some point du r i n g e v er y s e s s ion, usua lly ma ny times t h roug hout. T h roug h all of this game playing and shenanigans, Nelson a lso teaches us some of the same skills used by professiona l improvisational comedians on stage, in front of audiences, and on television. We do some of the same skits you see on “Whose line is it anyway?” At the end of our seven week course, we will be putting on a live improve show at the Crown Point Community Theater, 1500 S. Main St. Crown Point, Indiana 46307 (219-6625661 or cpct.biz) , Sunday March 15th at 5:30. This is immediately following a showing of the CPCT’s ow n production of “Wonka”. We a re on ly on t his planet in physical form once, and for a short time in the grand scheme of things. If all we have to take with us in death is our memories, we should go out a nd ma ke some fun ones. Do something d if ferent for a cha nge. Get out a nd live. Odds are about one in a million t hat I w i l l ever be a professiona l comedia n, but t he f u n memor ies I have from taking this improv comedy class will stay with me forever. Questions or comments may be sent to kevinbradley@columnist. com. Good luck, K.B.
Severa l week s ago I found a story in this very n e w s p a p e r i n f or m i n g t he public t hat t he Crown Point Community Theater was going to be having a class on Improv Comedy. It seemed to me that that would be a fun class to take….definitely something different to do. I had never done any live theater or comedy. Class was on Monday nights, w h ich w a s conven ient for me as well. What did I have to lose? If nothing else, it would give me a new life experience and that’s what our lives are qu i ntessent ia l ly : T he essence of the sum of our experiences. I’v e b e e n g oi n g t o t h e s e “c l a s s e s” e v e r y Mond ay si nc e. I h ave put the word classes in quotes not because we don’t learn anything, but because when we hear the word classes we think of sitting at a table or desk listening to a lecture, we think…”boring”. Improv class is nothing like that. In Improv class adu lts play and laugh in ways we may not have since we were k ids. Wouldn’t it be g reat to laug h as y ou d id i n c h i ld ho o d again? In improve class, you will. It is like living a second childhood, not by losing your mind, but by expanding your mind and increasing your ability to react quickly. At least this has been the experience of myself and my classmates M a r c R y s e r, C h e l s e a Sagissor, and Carol Bodie. Our talented instructor, Nel s on Vel a z que z ,

Hammer toes are actually a curling of the toes. Sometimes these are flexible and can be straightened with manipulation, or fixed which means they are always curled with arthritic changes that don’t allow straightening. Many times corns are found on the tops of these toes. Surgery can be performed to straighten these toes or occasional trimming of the corns can alleviate some of the pain. If you have any questions concerning hammer toes or any other problems, please stop by or call my office during office hours.

Treasured Letters From The Past MARJORIE ALICE DEVRIES After serving in WWII for a long time, Master Sgt. Robert (Bob) Buetow was only a few months away f rom ret u r n i ng to t he States—and that meant a dreamy vacation with the wife. He even passed up a seven day furlough to the French Riviera, to save money for his dream vacation. Meanwhile, his wife on the home front decided not to pass up a little furlough time of her own. She planned to take two vacations. One now. And one later (when Bob returned home from war). Bob wa s a good spor t about it, too: Darmstadt, Germany Sunday, July 22, 1945 Lu dearest, No mail from you for the last couple of days, but I really shouldn’t complain. You were probably busy doing a lot of things to get ready for your vacation. I didn’t write yesterday, a n d I g u e s s m y o nl y excuse is that I was lazy. I spent practically all the af ternoon and evening either napping on my bed or dazing in an easy chair. You should have been here to wake me up and give me a little pep. You’d know just how to do it, too. I don’t have any more news about leaving for you outside of what I told you in Friday’s letter. I expect

to be back home with you by the end of September at the latest. I had an opportunity to fly down to the Riviera for a seven-day furlough, leaving this morning, but I turned it down because I want to hang on to all the money I can to help pay for our trip, honey. Even though we can’t set any definite date for it, we can start planning on it anyhow. Have you written the Hershey Hotel yet to get all the necessary information? I shouldn’t ask, because I’m sure you have. I’m going to cut this short and clean up my room ‘cause it really needs it . G ood-night , swe et dreams (of me I hope) and all my love and kisses, darling. Your adoring daddy, Bob P.S. I’m so in love with you that I’m practically out of my mind. I even started to address the envelope to myself! B. Women May Face Extra Challenges in Seeking Financial Security BOB KRYGSHELD On March 8, we observe Inter nat iona l Women’s Day. On t his occasion, thousands of events across the world will honor the cu lt u ra l, pol it ica l a nd socia l achievements of women. Of cou r se, i n many countries, women st i l l face sig n i f ica nt economic challenges. And even here in the United States, women encounter more obstacles than men in the pursuit of financial security, particularly in seek i ng a com for table retirement lifest yle. So if you a re a woma n — regardless of your marital status — you will need to b e aw a r e of t he s e challenges and take steps to overcome them. Wome n s p e nd a n average of 12 years out of the workforce caring for children or elderly parents, compa red w it h less than two years for men, according to the Social Security Administration. T h i s t i me a w a y f r om work can translate into less money in retirement plans — in fact, women’s average 401(k) balance is only about two-thirds as large as men’s, according to a st udy by Fidel it y Investments. Yo u r c a r e - g i v i n g obligations are an issue to be decided by you, your spouse and perhaps other fa m i ly members. But while you are work ing, cont r ibute as much as you possibly can to your 401(k) or similar employersponsored plan. Also, try to fully fund your IRA each year. Also, women reaching age 65 are expected to live, on average, an additional 21.6 y e a r s , c omp a r e d with 19.3 years for men, according to the Social Security Administration, which also reports that the average annual Social Security income received by women 65 years and older was about $12,500. Consequently, it’s essential that you ma ke full use of you r ot her sou rces of income, such as your 401( k), I R A a nd ot her i n v e s t m e nt a c c ou nt s . To make this money last, you’ll need to create a sustainable w ithdrawa l st rateg y ea rly i n you r retirement — and stick to it. Finally, women are far more likely than men to need costly long-term care services, such as a stay in a nursing home. You’ll want to talk to a financial professional to prepare for these costs. These aren’t the only f ina ncia l issues facing women, but they do give you a good idea of what you may be facing. So, be proactive in meeting these cha l lenges — bec au se there’s actually a lot you can do. On February 25, 2015, I helped a client who lives in unincorporated Calumet Township in Lake County, Indiana. The man was a client of our insurance agency, but did not know that this agency helps clients with Medicare related medical bill problems at no charge. He told me that when he attended an event for senior citizens, he told ot h e r s t h a t Me d ic a r e would not pay a medical bill for $833 and that his Me d i c a r e s u pp le m e nt policy would not pay for it. “Go see Woody!” one of the ladies told him. “He helped my mother with a medical bill problem.” “Yes, you need to see Mister Wilcox,” another senior lady told him. When he visited, I went to work investigating his problem. After some time into the investigation, he told me that he had tried making phone calls to fix t he problem but cou ld not get a ny where. He was very glad that I was making progress to find the source of the problem. It took an hour and a half of phone calls (with a lot of time on hold) to find the problem and start the process of correcting it. T h e b u y e r ’s h o m e i nspect ion is a rea l pressure point in a real estate transaction. This is where deals can fall apart. Any positive steps taken by the seller to prepare will be well worth the time invested. A buyer has made an offer on your home and you a re now “U N DE R CONTR ACT”. The next phase of the process is the home inspection. The inspector works for the BUYER so be sure to make your home shine! Here a re ten simple tips to help eliminate the nu mber of i n spe c t ion items: 1. I f t h e p r o p e r t y i s vaca nt, ma ke su re the utilities are ON (including the water). 2. Take your pets out of the property for the inspection. 3. M a k e s u r e a l l o f your lights are f u nc t ion i ng. T h is may be as simple as replacing a light bulb. Don’t let the inspector note t hat a l ig ht fixture is inoperable simply because the bulb is burned out. 4. Repair or replace any broken items (which you’ve been meaning to get to). This can include door locks, windows, screens, etc. 5. Test smoke detectors and make sure ca rbon monox ide detectors are insta lled w it hin 15 feet of a l l sleeping quarters. 6. Clea r t he per i meter a round your house s o t he fou nd at ion and drainage can be i n spe c te d w it hout issue. 7. C lea n you r f u r nace thoroughly. Replace the filter and scrub dow n t he f u r n ac e i nside a nd out. A shop vac usua l ly works great for remov i ng t he dust

The English language is my favorite language. Now sure, I would like to pick a not her la ng uage as my favorite, however English is the only one I understand - most of the t i me. Ot her la ng uages ca n sou nd so much more at t ract ive. T he Ita l ia n la ng uage has a most delightful sound especially when listening to the Opera. French has for ages been known as the language of love. There a re ma ny reasons t hat could support this claim. The French are known as hopeless romantics. The la ng uage it sel f ca r r ies a n a ir of roma nce t hat comes with it. It is almost impossible to spea k French without the use of gestures. French carries a theatrical air that oozes romance. Other languages have word s t hat don’t have a n E n g l i s h o n e -w o r d translation. One of these words is the Scottish word ‘Tartle’. I was reading a short devotional the other day and this word came up. I immediately knew t hat it wou ld be c ome one of my favor ites. Perhaps some of you have experienced this. You are at a party, or a meeting
a nd a re i nt roduced to someone you have never met before. You ma ke their acquaintance, chat a bit, and then move on. Not t wo m inutes later, and you can’t remember their name to save your l i fe. It ’s emba r r a ssi ng w h e n y ou bu m p i nt o t hem later - a nd even more embarrassing when you a re ca l led upon t o i nt r o duc e t hem t o someone else. In English you would have to say, “Pardon me for my utter a b s e nt-m i n d e d n e s s . I know you just told me your name 20 minutes ago, but I have forgotten it. If you would you please repeat it, I could now make a proper introduction.” For those of you who are counting that is 36 English words. For s ome r e a s on t h i s absent-mindedness must happen quite frequently in Scotland, because they created a single word for this occasion. The word is tartle. Just like our word ‘turtle’ but substitute the m idd le vowel. Scott ish people who forget names c a n ju st s ay, “Pa rdon m y t a r t l e .” Wo u l d n’t you ag ree t hat t hese 3 words are easier and less emba rrassing t ha n our English version? Feel free to use ‘tartle’ whenever the situation arises. I’m sure the Scottish people won’t mind a bit - and it just might catch on over in our country.

Question: My sister and I just purchased a townhouse with only her on the loan and title for qualifying purposes. I now want to add myself onto the title. How do we go about accomplishing this? And how does this affect tax benefits and write-offs? I definitely want to take advantage of the write-offs as well.

Answer: You didn’t buy a tow nhouse -- your sister did. You’re not an owner, because you’re not on the title. This is not a minor point. To now put your name on the title means that ownership has changed -- which means also that the property has been “sold,” thus transfer taxes may be due and the current lender may call the loan. Before going further, speak with an experienced lender to see how you and your sister might jointly qualify for a new loan. An attorney can provide advice regarding title issues. **** Question: What’s the best waiting period before selling a home?

There are all kinds of alternative inspection arrangements which can be found in sale agreements. Determining what either party must do depends on what the agreement actually says. Why Rent-ToOwn programs often fail
ARTHUR V. VEAL IV Since t he rea l estate ma rket col lapse of t he la st fe w yea r s, a n old financing tool has been brought back into play and is gaining a lot of traction. Rent to ow n housing is gaining in popularity in the United States. Rent to own housing is just a fancy way of say ing “rent my house now, and you can buy it later”. Many former homeowners have gone for this kind of deal because they see it as a great way to get back i nto home ownership, even though they may not have good credit right now. T he whole process sounds very simple. Rent the house for a little while (usua l ly 6 mont hs to 2 years) and after that time buy t he house. Si mple enough right? However if you have gone thru a rent to own program or tried to set one up it can get quite compl icated a nd of ten times you wont buy the house. The reason t hese progra ms don’t work is usually because both sides are not honest with each ot her. Ma ny t i mes t he sel ler/ma nager doesn’t k now how to properly setup a rent to own or in some cases t hey rea l ly don’t want to sell and they are just using the wording as marketing. On the other ha nd, of ten t he buyer doesn’t know what to do to get financing and they think that if they just pay then somehow it will work out. Most of the times it doesn’t! So how do you successfully complete a rent to own transaction? The first thing a tenant Old dark pine Ethan Allen side table 25” x 25” with 1 large drawer $10; 3 Ethan Allen display wall shelfes dark pine $20. 708-481-6907 Stiffel floor lamp $100. 708481-6907 DeLonghi stainless steel toaster oven, bakes, broiles and toastes, temp up to 450F. $35. 708-481-6907 Original Furbies $3-$5 each; Ty beanie babies $2-3 ea. 708-481-6907

shou ld do is to ask for everything in writing. If an owner says that they will sell you the house later then they should give you a purchase price as well as paperwork that spells out how you must buy and what timeline they expect you to buy. A good rent to own program will also offer you assistance to get qualified to buy the home. For example, in our rent to own program we offer a step-by-step customized pla n on how to get qualified for a mortgage. In the case of the owner, be honest with the tenant about what you expect and what it w ill take to buy your home. If they can live w it h your ex pectat ions great, if they can’t, then t hey a re not t he r ig ht tenant. All in all, rent to own programs can be a great way for a family with less than perfect credit to buy a home and re-establish themselves after financial hardship. However, like everything else you must go into it with your eyes open and well aware that t he ot her pa r t y is NOT looking out for you in most cases so protect yourself. GET IT IN WRITING! According to Dr. Munroe, “If you don’t k now t he pu r pose of a t h ing abuse is inevitable.” Well, in support of this column, if you don’t know the purpose of a daughter then abuse is inevitable. Too many daughters have been abused and this truth remains the same. Every daughter requires a mother and a father l iv i ng i n ha r mony a nd u n it y. T hei r division brings abuse. It is abuse (abnormal use) of your soul to keep carrying insurmountable pain in your heart and mind without expressing how it is impacting your life. The pain in your soul afflicts others. pain of each child’s emotions, and this provokes her to live a life of prayer on purpose. Prayer is a method of bringing burdens to the feet of Our Father. This pain is causing dissension, impatience, frustration, irritation, and aggravation b e t w e e n m ot h e r s a n d d a u g h t e r s , husba nd a nd w ives, a nd sisters a nd brothers.
