Two Individuals in Custody Indicted on Felony Charges for Concealing Narcotics in

Cook County Jail

A Cook County Grand Jury indicted two individuals in custody at the Cook County Jail after a Sheriff’s Office investigation found them in possession of paper soaked in synthetic cannabinoids, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart announced today.

On April 27, jail staff recovered strips of drug-soaked paper in the right sock of Alexander Hansen, 19, of Chicago, who was being housed in Division 6. The next day, jail staff recovered drug-soaked paper hidden in a notebook being carried by Kiante Byrd, 22, of Chicago, while he was being housed in Division 11. In each case, the contraband subsequently tested positive for synthetic cannabinoids.

The Towle Theater is proud to present the third show in their 20th Anniversary Season. Murder Ballad is a musical by Julia Jordan and Juliana Nash. The musical is directed by Towle Theater Managing Director, Jeff Casey with Musical Direction by Elizabeth Tuazon. Murder Ballad is sponsored by First Merchants Bank. Murder Ballad is the dramatic story of a love triangle gone wrong, centering on Sara, an uptown girl who seems to have it all, but whose downtown past lingers enticingly and dangerously in front of her.

The Towle Theater is pleased to welcome back past Towle Theater cast members Beck Buechel (Chicago) previously seen in Night Tide & Fun Home, Natalie Rae (Chicago) seen in Standby & A Fabulous 50’s Christmas, Ryan Alan Jones (Berwyn) last seen in Reefer Madness and A Fabulous 50’s Christmas and Christopher Place (Chicago) who was seen in Miracle on 34th Street: A Live Musical Radio Play.

Murder Ballad runs July 7-9, 14-16. Performances on Fridays and Saturdays are at 8pm and Sundays are at 2pm. The box office opens 1 hour prior to performance time. Tickets are only $24 and must be paid for in advance are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Group rates are available. There is no late seating. Please arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to curtain.

Dollar General NOW OPEN in Dyer

Byrd has been held at the jail without bail since July 3, 2020 for first-degree murder.
