CESARE AND HIS FAMILY TAKE IN THE GRANT PARK EASTER EGG HUNT: All set to get out and gather easter eggs is Cesare and his children, who live nearby and regard the Easter Party as a rite of spring passage. “I want my kids to have the same fun I had growing up,” he noted. “My parents took us to all to the local Easter Parties and I have pictures of them all! Great fun!”

PANCAKES BY HARRY TRIPPLET AND COMPANY--Guests took advantage of Post 80 in Whiting and a full course breakfast of pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausages, eggs, and a special treat, a chocolate butter dressing for our pancakes, courtesy of Harry Tripplet. Pictured here are Eddy Marco of Dyer, Indiana and Janet and Simon Pavosevic of the East Side. Janet is a well known (now retired) bartender at some of the most popular lounges in Whiting, like the Center Lounge, and others on the East Side. When asked what is the most important trait for a bartender to have, Janet noted, “remembering faces and names and lots of discretion.”

ALMOST TIME TO COLOR EGGS AND TRY FOR PRIZES: The Beecher Community Center was the location for the annual Easter party for the kids in the far suburban village. Pictured here are Roman Mathy, three and a half, along with his Mom, Morgan Whorrall, Grandmother Leaan Corbin and Jess Kelson. Roman donned a pair of sunglasses and tried to decide what color pen he would use to creatively color an egg for the Easter Bunny to judge. In all some 200 kids took to the community Center for the Easter Party which included games, treats and some neat prizez.

: Rich and Judy Dominiak of Calumet City and some of their family at Steves Lounge in Hegewisch for the Friday Fish Fry. Only one more Friday, April 7, 2023 left during this Lenten season 2023 to take advantage of the wonderful Steve’s Fish Fry. BABY GOATS CHARM THE KIDDIES

AT EASTER PARTY: Luckily, the weather cooperated Sunday April 2, 2023. The Sollitt Staff put up a temporary barnyard and brought in the baby goats for the children to “Ohh and Ahh over.” They are 10 week baby goats, and as we can all see, the kids were enchanted by them! Sollitt Tap, 11830 Sollitt Road is in an unincorporated area of Kankikee County and is the only business in that area in the community of Beecher, Il In addition to the Eaaster Egg Hunt that day there was a petting zoo (seen here) and music by Michael Satarino.

TIM VON ALVER AND HIS NEW PUPPY: The four month Beagle came to live with Tim and his family in Beecher just today, Palm Sunday. He was introducing her to his friends and promised the dog would be treated “just like family.” In days gone by the Beagle was considered the most ‘family friendly’ dog in the universe and was advertised as such by none other than the American Kennel Club!
