NEW ORLEANS HIGHLIGHTS TOUR 1 0:0 0 A M - 3:3 0 PM | Pr i ce: $69

Embark on an adventure through a city radiating an eccentric and authentic atmosphere and filled to the brim with history and culture close to the heart of America. On an exclusive New Orleans narrated driving tour, experience the city from an intimate first-person perspective. Relax in the comfort of our River Coach as we glide past some of the most iconic attractions in the city! In Jackson Square, grab a bite to eat at one of the many authentic eateries. Enjoy a stop to City Park where you will be served Morning Call coffee and beignets before concluding the day in St. Louis Cemetery #3!

8:3 0 A M - 4:0 0 PM | Pr i ce: $129

On today’s full day southern adventure, we will explore the beautiful and unique elements of the region. Our first stop will be to the “Crown Jewel of Louisiana’s River Road,” Houmas House, where we will discover the home’s rich history, exquisite artwork, antique artifacts, and immaculate gardens and grounds. Then, we will indulge in the culinary traditions of the region with a delicious southern lunch buffet. Afterward, we will make our way to Manchac Swamp for an unforgettable experience, as we journey through the moss draped cypress trees and listen to the narrations from our knowledgeable captain about this lush ecosystem, and the creatures who call it home.

A powerful testimony to the rich history of the antebellum south, Oak Alley Plantation invites visitors to explore all facets of her plantation past. This immaculate home was constructed during the height of the sugar industries success in America. The breathtaking Greek-Revival home got its name from the most distinguishing feature, a quarter-mile walkway lined in 300-yearold live oak trees spanning from the levees of the Mississippi River to the entrance of the home. As you explore, discover the history of Jacques and Celina Roman, the plantation owners, whose rich and lavish lifestyle drastically changed over the years they resided in the mansion.

Our day begins as we make our way to Nottoway Plantation – a sugar plantation, but different in many ways from Laura! Once at Laura Plantation, we will enter the fascinating world of true Louisiana Creoles who, at this historic site, lived apart from the American mainstream for over 200 years. Explore this unique, woman-run and owned Creole sugar plantation and uncover the compelling history of the family who occupied the home. Then, before make your way back to the dock of the American Duchess!

Experience true Southern hospitality as we make our way to The Towers, one of Mississippi’s most elegant privately owned antebellum homes. Here, we will be welcomed like old friends by owners Ginger and James Hyland and guided through their personal home. Marvel at the extensive collections of silks, lace sheers, and antiques throughout The Towers, and hear the stories of their history. Then, Ginger will share stories of her starstudded past as the daughter of Lawrence A. Hyland, president of Hughes Aircraft Company and one of the men credited with the invention of radar. Our tour ends in the sunny, enclosed back gallery, where will enjoy a delightful taste of southern comfort food and meet Rene Adams - local chef and close friend of the Hylands.

Take a step back into history when cotton was king and plantations dotted the southern back roads of America. The story begins with a visit the only cotton plantation in the south that allows guests to tour both the historic and modern-day aspects of cotton operation. At Frogmore Plantation we will first experience an inspirational musical performance, beautifully illustrating the struggles of life on a plantation, before continuing outside to the cotton fields, restored slave cabins, and rare steam engine cotton gin. Then we’ll make a stop at Forks of the Road Historical Site, the location of the South’s second largest 19th century slave market.

Join us as we make a short trip to a local southern-style mansion, named Twin Oaks, personal home of award-winning chef, Regina Charboneau. Regina’s claim to fame is her much-coveted recipe for picture perfect, buttery biscuits and today, she’ll share the recipe with you. And if the biscuit wasn’t enough, she’ll demonstrate how to put a new spin on the recipe, by placing it on top of the warm, comforting chicken pot-pie. As it bakes in the oven, filling Regina’s personal kitchen with an incredible aroma, it’s your turn to play chef, as you try to recreate her dish! The day will end around Regina’s family table, as you enjoy your creations and some laughs!
