Richland Premium Experience RED MOUNTAIN: A VINE-TO-WINE EXPERIENCE

HIGHLIGHTS

DISCOVER THE RED MOUNTAIN AVA

In the neighborhood of the Columbia, Snake, and Yakima Rivers rests the Red Mountain American Viticultural Area (AVA). This small region began its journey to a premiere grape-growing site in the 1970’s, when two engineers from the Hanford Site hung up their hard hats and invested in Red Mountain real estate where they found the perfect place for a vineyard venture. The region’s delectable wines owe their fierce flavors not to a certain varietal, but the terroir of Red Mountain. The region’s microclimate is extremely beneficial to viticulture.

TASTE THE SPIRIT OF RED MOUNTAIN

From the very beginning, the vineyards of Red Mountain were based on a close-knit community of friends and family. Sip on the robust and vibrant wine selections of Kiona Vineyards while you soak in the stunning scenery of the surrounding landscape. This family-owned vineyard and winery has been a Williams’ family operation for three generations. To the family, wine making isn’t simply a career, but a way of life.

EXPERIENCE THE REGION'S COMMUNITY

At Frichette Winery, get a taste of the wine selections produced by the unique Red Mountain vines. Frichette is owned by husband and wife Greg & Shae Frichette. The two decided to open the winery in 2013 after a coin toss solidified their move to Washington. The limited production winery aims to flaunt the flavors that can only be found in the Red Mountain AVA. After you’ve experienced Red Mountain viticulture up-close with the community members who share and cherish it, you will know why this Washington wine country has become one of the world’s premiere wine destinations.
