This 104-foot structure was constructed in 1872 to replace the original lighthouse that was destroyed during the Civil War by the Confederate Army. Today, the St. Simons Island Lighthouse guides ships into the St. Simons sound. Climb the tower’s 129 steps to the top for a breathtaking panoramic view of the coast and surrounding islands.
WWII HOME FRONT MUSEUM
Located in the historic Coast Guard Station, the WWII Home Front Museum tells the story of this coastal community during World War II.
