Acer Aspire E3-111 Review!
The Acer Aspire E3-111 is budget netbook targeted at students with usual usage requirements. Efficiently a Chromebook-specification system with more storage and Windows 8.1, it looks to be a promising and budget-price laptop for usual everyday usage.
Body and Design It’s very thin and light, which will appeal those users who want a laptop that they can carry out everywhere around. The size of the device is just 21.2mm thick and weigh only 1.3kg, the Aspire E3-111 is the description of the ultraportable laptop. But due to 11.6 inch form factor, some users may put it off because it has congested keyboard.
The key are spongy and not very comfortable to type on and also there is a wicked habit of rattling with every key press, which gets annoying fast. It’s a shame, otherwise this a reasonably well built laptop.
Mouse buttons are integrated into the touch pad, so you can press on almost anywhere on the touchpad to work with the mouse buttons. While tapping and two-fingered scrolling it works fine without any hassle. But we were not able to zoom out the web pages and photos. However, we like the style of the design. Although the body is designed with cheap plastic but the brushed metal-style design has displayed some level of look.
Specification and Performance The Aspire E3-111 packs 500GB of hard disk, which is enough for most people. Strangely for a small laptop like this, the ports are placed at the rear instead of at the side. The prts that are placed at the rear are high-speed USB3 port, HDMI and VGA connector, USB2 ports and Gigabit Ethernet port. For processing performance Acer has incorporated a dual-core Intel Celeron N2830 chip. It runs at 2.16GHz but it can be increased to 2.41 GHz if it is allowed to run in thermal condition. At this price range, what would you expect? This processor is able to handle Windows 8.1 and load pages and also starts document editing software reasonably fast and smoothly.
As expected, 3D games will not be supported on this laptop as it fails to run 3D video games. But, HD videos and flash games can be played on this. It has 1,366x768 pixels which is fine, but nothing special. It is able to show 60% of the sRGB color gamut but leave the brighter colors slightly short-changed. It is because it has only 11.6 inch panel and hence it looks sharp since the pixel are placed together.
Battery Life In battery test, the E3-111 gets empty in 5 hours 30 minutes from a full charge. So, this is one of the good results for such a budget laptop and should attract most people.
Conclusion The Acer E3-111 is wonderful-value laptop, managing and capable performance at this price range many buyers will look to buy it. But still Acer Aspire E3-111 is a good example of entry level with no support for touch input, but huge hard drive and fairly keyboard keep the work done.
