Summer Fun in the Waukee CSD: Free Meals, Camps & Clinics, and Facility Projects

Even during summer break, there’s still a lot happening in the district. Our teams at Waukee CSD are always busy doing what’s best for the students and families in our community. Take a look at all the fun we’ve been having!

Picnic & Play

We’re having lots of fun at Picnic and Play for summer meals! We’ve provided an opportunity for students to engage with staff and fellow students while completing activities and enjoying a free meal. The Picnic & Play program is serving meals Monday through Friday at three locations in the community until Friday, Aug. 5, 2022:

Camps & Clinics

Waukee CSD offers several camps and clinics during the summer through our athletics departments and our Community Education program. To find out more about camps still happening this summer, visit our WaukeeBackpack and Community Education website.

Facility Projects

Construction continues this summer on our Waukee CSD Natatorium and finishing touches on Sugar Creek Elementary, which will open for students in the fall. The playground is coming together — very exciting!

Our facilities team continues to work on projects at all Waukee CSD facilities to make updates and improvements to keep them safe and reliable for students, staff, and district families.

The district has had a fun summer preparing for students to return for the 2022-2023 school year. We are excited to see all our returning students and meet the new students joining our Waukee family as well.
