Our Love Letter
The saying goes- Real estate is all about location, location, location.
With over 180 degrees of magnificent vistas, one enjoys nature at its best. Mt. Rainier accentuates the awe-inspiring sunrises and surrounds itself in pinks and purples at sunset. Many times during the year one is thrilled with vibrant double rainbows. The flatness of the lot invites one to enjoy the sunset overlooking the graceful pasture lands to the west. The therapeutic movement and sounds of the waters in Budd Inlet begin the day well with coffee on the deck or a relaxing cocktail by night. The absolute silence is “deafening. Many evenings have been spent enjoying the starry, starry nights away from the city lights.
Since Cooper Point is surrounded by water on three sides, the temperature is truly more moderate than a few miles down the road. The way our home sits on the lot, the western winds do not blast the living area and deck. During the day, one can stroll the beach with a friend or walk/bike the hills and go to the end of the point. Gardening is very peaceful with the lapping sounds of the water and the chirps of the birds. There is always something interesting going on with the seal and whale traffic along with all types of boats headed to/from the Olympia port. Certainly it is convenient that the country club is 5 minutes down the road and the Washington Center for the Performing Arts takes 20 minutes. Traffic is not a concern.
Beside the location, the layout of the house is very flexible. We have hosted 150 people at a family wedding, 30 adults for sit down dinners, and more that 100 folks for the Lighted Ship Parade. Valet parking is very convenient with the circular driveway. The gated entry provides a safe and secure environment. All the bedrooms are on the main level with divided guest quarters. The cathedral-like great room is light as the view takes your breath away. It must be pointed out that the house has 5 extra covered car bays. The carriage house is designed with a classic car in mind.
Our new water system has good taste and reliable pressure. The power company has focused on our area so there have been very few power outages. With that said, out automatic generator is maintained annually and tested weekly.
To end on an important subject. Our neighbors are private yet friendly and sharing. We all look after each other as if we are family.
