AN EVENT THREE YEARS IN THE MAKING

Can you believe it’s been three years since the last Foundation Dinner? That’s right – our last event was in March of 2019. The 2020 event was cancelled at the last minute due to Covid-19 and 2021 never even had a chance. So we’ve got some catching up to do!

This year’s event, on Friday, April 1, is no April Fool’s joke! We’re expecting everyone who comes will have a great time. While many aspects of the dinner will stay the same (great food, live music, silent and live auctions), there will also be some big changes. For one, the event will be held on VPC's Awaken Café Plaza! The weather should be lovely and as the sun goes down, we’ll enjoy the great outdoor atmosphere of our own campus.

Another big change is the ticket price! We want to make attending this great event as feasible as possible while still raising money for worth causes. One of our committee’s primary goals is to encourage younger adults to attend by offering a significantly lower ticket price than in previous years – only $75 (available at vpf.givesmart.com). In addition, there will be many family-friendly items included in the auctions and popcorn raffle.

Our theme, A Night at the Movies, will include music from the silver screen performed by Josiel Perez and his band during dinner, and VPC's Valley Singers, who will perform a mini-concert after dinner. Additionally, we need you to add to the fun by coming dressed as a favorite character from a movie. We look forward to seeing what great formal and informal outfits will be at this year's dinner!

Even though a trip to Costa Rica and a weekend at The Wigwam will be on the live auction block; the highlight of the evening is always the opportunity to “Fund the Need.” This year's Fund the Need will address some needed work in our upstairs classrooms and in the administration building – new paint and carpet for both. The A New Heart for the Valley campaign gave us an exciting remodeled venue for worship – but VPC's hardworking Pastors and staff work in a building that hasn't been refreshed in 20 years. Also, the upstairs classrooms, which are used for Sunday School, adult classes, and hosting Family Promise, are in need of some much-needed love. Let’s join together to match these areas with the beauty of our remodeled spaces!

Did I mention that tickets are available at vpf.givesmart. com? A preview of auction items can be found there as well. Join us for this community-wide event. Enjoy old friends and make some new ones. See you there!
