SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES Beginning May 28, Fall schedule resumes September 10

Chapel, 8AM

Sanctuary, 9AM

Landes Center, 10:30AM

Children’s Message

The Chapel affords an intimate and acoustically exceptional worship experience. Seating is close to the pastors and musicians, and the 360 degree “Light of the Universe” stained glass surrounds the building.

Worship in the Landes Center tends to be less formal with a powerful drive. Music is led by the VPC Praise Band, which plays current popular worship music in a visual-driven setting with set pieces and screens.

The Sanctuary offers a soaring ceiling and worship through traditional elements of organ and choir. The largest building at VPC houses children and the elderly, long-time members and first-time visitors, those who were raised with organ and classical music, and those who are drawn to the presence of God. 9 & 10:30AM worship services Children worship with their family and listen to a message specifically for them. It is an opportunity for kids to hear the music, prayer, and message in worship services.

SUMMER READING

Jesus desires you to be whole, in body, mind, and soul. At VPC, we know that issues around mental health can be confusing, challenging, and may come with needless stigma. Here are some great books that will raise your awareness about mental health issues and how God cares about the whole person.

Loved Back to Life

The Anxiety Cure

Choose Joy

Hurt People Hurt People

Sheila Walsh Sheila Walsh was at the pinnacle of her career, appearing daily on TV as co-host of The 700 Club. One day she found herself walking away from it all and checking into a psychiatric hospital. In her journal she wrote, “Lord, please hold me. I’m falling into a dark well... I feel so alone.” Loved Back to Life takes readers on Sheila’s journey from hopelessness to joy. Although the road was terrifying, at every turn God called her to follow and to trust Him. Kay Warren Why are some people—even in the toughest times—always filled with joy, while most of us can’t seem to find lasting joy no matter how hard we search? Do joy-filled people know something we don’t? The answer is yes! And in her warm, candid style, Kay Warren shares that life-transforming truth with you.

Change Your Brain, Change Your Life

Archibald D. Hart Anxiety is the number one mental health problem for women and second only to drug abuse among men. Medication can alleviate the symptoms of anxiety illnesses. However, in order to achieve lasting emotional tranquility, a significant lifestyle change must be made. With a Christian view, The Anxiety Cure provides proven, natural strategies for overcoming panic disorder and finding an emotional balance in today’s fast-paced world. Sandra D. Wilson Do you know someone who seems impossible to get along with? From the people at church to members of our family, we are surrounded by people who hurt other people. They do so because of the pain in their own lives. Dr. Wilson brings her years as a professional counselor to a difficult topic that affects many of us. Let her warmth and insight lead you toward a heart of compassion and a ministry of healing for those who hurt others.

Dr. Daniel Amen You’ll see scientific evidence that your anxiety, depression, anger, obsessiveness, or impulsiveness could be related to how specific structures in your brain work. You’re not stuck with the brain you’re born with. Renowned neuropsychiatrist and Christian, Dr. Amen includes cutting-edge research that can help change your life.
