Mission Partnerships: Community and Kingdom Impact The mission work done through VPC has real and vital impact on the lives of people in our community and across the globe: • Through Ministry of Hope, you help support over 3,000 orphans in Lilongwe, Malawi. You help with school fees, agricultural efforts, small building projects, and donate over 125,000 meals. • Through Villages in Partnership, we are constructing a secondary school. This school will provide quality education for the children of the Sakata area in Malawi. It will reduce their weekly walking distance and attract great teachers. When the final phase is complete it will serve over 200 learners. • With Family Promise, you provide a safe place for homeless families. Five times during the year VPC provides four or more families seven nights of shelter for a total of 560 beds and over 1,500 meals. • Through MentorKids we have volunteers mentoring children, helping with homework and reading skills, and engaging in life together. The two current Promise Neighborhoods serve a population of around 200 children and teens. We also have the joy of hosting the yearly Christmas party to over 400 guests. Why do we pledge? We pledge to invest in the next generation's faith formation. Your gifts help make everything VPC does possible.
VPC News VPC offices will be closed November 22-23 in observance of Thanksgiving holiday.

Money talks. It tells a previous story of work and earning, saving and investment. Behind every dollar is someone’s time and energy, their craft and creativity, their stress and effort. Money speaks current words too, a language of need and necessity, survival and sufficiency. Bills must be paid, promises honored, needs met, taxes covered. But money also speaks autobiographically. It tells a personal story that reveals what we hope for, what we dream about, and what we value.
The Four Gospels: Advent Bible Study* (Part of Oasis Community Wednesdays) Wednesdays, November 28 - December 19 6-7PM, Chapel Register online: vpc.church/classes The four gospels are the "good news" of who Jesus is and what He's done for us! This Advent season we will look closely at each gospel: the audience, focus, tone, and significant moments in Jesus' life.

Get to know people at VPC! Sign-up today on the patio or online: vpc.church/dinner Dinner for 8 is open to everyone, regardless of age or marital status. Create new friendships and lasting memories.
What does your money say about your labor, your life, and your heart? Do your dollars tell a Kingdom story of love and justice? Do they show your personal passion for the spiritual and material needs of other people? As you consider your gifts to VPC in 2019, may you give your resources a generous voice, so your dollars can sing a glorious song of gratitude to our God!

-Pastor David Joynt Today is Commitment Sunday. What does that mean? Once a year, VPC sets aside time during worship to take the opportunity to signal a commitment to what God is doing in our lives, in our community, and in our world. Thanks to you, the ministry of VPC can happen. We ask, if you're able and willing, to indicate your support for VPC in 2019. It may be financial support, volunteering, praying for the church, or all three. Thank you for the ways in which you are God's hands and feet at VPC, and thank you for helping make this community vibrant and faith-filled!
