Contamination of drinking water systems The "accompanying substances" present in the drinking water are deposited on the surfaces of the drinking water chambers in the form of lime, ochre deposits and sintering and subsequently form an ideal breeding ground for algae, bacteria and fungi. In order to avoid the formation of germs on the surface as well as in the drinking water, the drinking water chambers should always be completely cleaned and disinfected every year.

Sanosil Clean TW Sanosil Clean TW has been specially developed for the cleaning and maintenance of drinking water systems such as tanks, wells, filters, pipe systems, water treatment plants, etc.. The chemically pure organic and inorganic acids with biodegradable inhibitors and wetting agents contained in Sanosil Clean TW are ideal for dissolving algae, iron, limescale, manganese deposits, ochre deposits, etc. wetted with TW

uncleaned

Thanks to the use of the special cleaning agent Sanosil Clean TW, the previously lengthy work preparations are kept to a minimum. This makes the work particularly economical and thus reduces costs. The Sanosil Clean TW solution has proven its worth with all common linings or approved coatings such as chlorinated rubber, epoxy resin, PVC linings, paint coatings, tiles, plaster, etc.. The only exception is galvanised parts, which cannot be treated with Sanosil Clean TW.

Preparation In order to achieve a perfect cleaning, walls, ceilings and especially the floors should be hosed down with a high-pressure cleaner or fire hose after emptying the drinking water system to be cleaned, so that no coarse dirt impedes the following cleaning with the Sanosil Clean TW solution. After spraying, the water is pumped off or drained. The sump drain must be closed again. This ensures later that (if necessary) the spray water can be neutralised.

Dosage, quantity calculation Initial treatment, heavy crusts

Sanosil Clean TW should be used undiluted for the initial treatment or for very heavy lime encrustations. It is sprayed directly onto the crusts. Normally, approx. 1.5 litres of Clean TW are sufficient for 10m2 of surface to be treated.

Maintenance treatments

For maintenance treatments with "normal" soiling and deposits, Clean TW can be applied diluted with tap water up to 1:5. The dilution factor depends primarily on the degree of soiling or the thickness of the limescale crust on the surfaces. Here, too, approx. 1.5 litres of Clean TW diluted solution are required for 10m2 of surface to be treated.

In case of heavy iron and/or manganese deposits

In case of heavy iron and manganese deposits (recognisable by dark or reddish-brown discolourations), we recommend the additional use of cleaning booster A, a strong antioxidant. If required, this can increase the effect of Sanosil Clean TW on heavy iron and manganese deposits many times over by reducing the metal oxide layers. The cleaning booster A (500g) is dissolved in 5-10 litres of water and mixed per 25kg canister of Sanosil Clean TW. The solution should be used within approx. 1 week.

Application: Sanosil Dynapress pump and telescopic lance

To achieve an optimal mist-free flat spray, the Sanosil Clean TW solution should be applied to the surfaces to be treated with the Sanosil Dynapress sprayer. The device delivers a spray pressure of up to 15 bar and the telescopic spray lance enables an extension of up to 6 m. This makes it easy to work from the ground and to apply the solution in a mist-free flat spray. This makes it easy to work from the ground, thus avoiding costs and time for possible scaffolding erection and dismantling.

Application: To achieve optimum cleaning, the Sanosil Clean TW solution should always be sprayed on from the bottom up. Sanosil Clean TW solution. (Either pure or diluted 1:5) A strong foam development and a tingling sound is normal. If the reaction subsides, although visible calcifications are still visible, it may be necessary to re-spray. As a rule, when no more foaming is visible when spraying the surface, the deposits are dissolved.

Rinsing off the dissolved coatings After dissolving the deposits, the treated surfaces must be washed off with plenty of water after approx. 15 - 30 minutes. A fire hose serves well for this purpose

Before

Neutralisation

authority.

- After

After the cleaning work with Sanosil Clean TW and thorough rinsing with water, the pH value of the splash water collected in the sump must be determined with the pH indicator paper. An ideal value is pH 6.5 -7.5. If the value is within these parameters, no further neutralisation is necessary. As a rule, however, the pH value is too low and must be adjusted to approximately pH 7 by neutralising the spray water with the product Sanosil Clean Neutralisator in order to be able to discharge the spray water into the sewage system. Caution: In some cases, this requires a permit or information to the responsible water

Procedure Per 1 litre Sanosil TW, 250 - 300g Sanosil Neutraliser are needed to neutralise the rinsing water. Depending on the thickness of the lime deposits on the walls, the required amount of neutraliser may be slightly reduced. The neutraliser granulate is dissolved 1:10 with water and the solution is ideally distributed on the sump with a spray can etc. A good mixing should be aimed for. A good mixing should be aimed for. If the control with the indicator paper shows an acceptable value, the neutralised solution can be drained off. Then rinse the bottom of the system again with clean water.

Disinfection with Sanosil Super 25 /S015

The surfaces of the freshly cleaned reservoir are sprayed with a 2-3% solution of Sanosil Super 25 or a 20% solution of Sanosil S015 before refilling). The solution is not rinsed and the reservoir is refilled after a reaction time of approx. 60 -120 min. In addition, it has proven useful to add a dosage of approx. 30 ml/m3 Sanosil Super 25 or 200ml/m3 S015 to the water when refilling. The peroxide decomposes completely in 24 - 48 h and the reservoir content can be discharged directly into the network.

General safety regulations / equipment When cleaning with Sanosil Clean TW, we recommend wearing appropriate protective clothing, such as rubber suit, rubber boots, rubber gloves, helmet with Plexiglas shield and aerosol-tight P3 protective mask. If, despite these protective measures, splashes get on the skin or even into the eyes, they must be washed off immediately with plenty of water. Our experience has shown that the use of Sanosil Clean TW and cleaning booster A does not cause any harmful side effects. Only very sensitive skin (allergies) should avoid contact with Sanosil Clean TW and Cleansing Booster A or at least use a highly oily skin protection cream.

Important: Sanosil Clean TW must under no circumstances be mixed with products containing chlorine (e.g. Javelle water), as this could lead to the development of chlorine gas.
