Sanosil S015 Disinfectant
Concentrate for water and surfaces Description
Sanosil S015 is a disinfectant concentrate that is suitable for surface, pipe, drinking and utility water disinfection. Sanosil S015 is preferably used in water and pipe disinfection but can also be used as a surface disinfectant when diluted (usually 1:4 – 1:1).
Brief information: Suitable for: Water disinfection, pipes, drinking water systems, irrigation systems Product type: Concentrate Effective against*: Bacteria, viruses, fungi, yeasts, endospores, biofilm *Depending on the application, germ type, dosing and exposure time. See table/label for details. Shelf life: 2 years
Its main active ingredient is carefully stabilised hydrogen peroxide; its effectiveness against microorganisms is catalytically enhanced by the addition of silver. This means that its antimicrobial effect is several times higher than that of normal hydrogen peroxide. The quantity of silver that remains after the peroxide has broken down counteracts the formation of new germs and has outstanding conservation properties, especially in water systems.
How it works 1. The oxygen (1O2/-O2) separated off by the hydrogen peroxide attacks the cell walls of the microorganisms. Oxidation denatures and destroys them (cold combustion). 2. The effect is intensified by silver ions, which not only reinforce the effect of the peroxide by acting as a catalyst, but also provide support by blocking the germs' metabolism and their ability to multiply.
Active ingredients: 7.5 g/100 g hydrogen peroxide, 0.0075 g/100 g silver
Always remember:
Successful disinfection of contaminated surfaces requires perfect pre-cleaning. The more thoroughly the surfaces to be disinfected are pre-cleaned, e.g. with a high-pressure cleaner, brush and soapy water, the more effective the subsequent disinfection will be.

Dilute Sanosil S015 as per the table immediately prior to application and use within 24h (alternatively: dilute with distilled water to extend the shelf life of the solution). Apply the solution onto the cleaned surface by spraying (Sanospray, etc.) or by spraying and wiping so that a consistent, moist, quickly drying film remains behind. Allow to dry.
Immersion disinfection
To disinfect cleaned work utensils such as seals, threaded connections, tools, chopping boards, etc., a disinfectant solution can be used for immersion disinfection. The solution can be used multiple times but should be exchanged after a maximum of one week: 1. 2. 3.
Dilute Sanosil S015 1:4 (1 part of Sanosil S015 to 4 parts of water) immediately prior to use. Completely immerse cleaned objects once or store them in the solution. Remove objects from the immersion solution and allow them to drip dry.
Water systems (shock disinfection)
Tanks, pipes and drinking water equipment, etc. Mix disinfection solution: 6,600 ml Sanosil S015 per 1 m3 water. (6–7 ml per litre of water) Fill the water system with disinfection solution and allow it to stand for at least 4h if severely contaminated. The disinfection solution can then be disposed of via the sewage system.
Water disinfection (maintenance disinfection)
Depending on the water quality and pre-treatment, a disinfectant quantity of 150 – 660 ml per m3 water is recommended for disinfecting and conserving utility water, irrigation water, rinsing water and washing water, etc. Depending on the type and number of germs, the exposure time is < 4h. For drinking water treatment/emergency water conservation with Sanosil S015, clarification of the specific circumstances is required beforehand to determine the precise application and dosage quantities. The microbiological values must also be monitored if necessary. Our experts will be happy to advise you. The upper limit for the Sanosil S015 content at the removal point (water tap) should still be max. 224 ml Sanosil S015/m3 (EU limit value for hydrogen peroxide in drinking water).
Equipment
If aids are used, it must always be ensured that all parts which come into contact with the disinfectant are made of chemical-resistant (hydrogen peroxide-resistant) plastic. Sanosil AG has suitable devices in its product range.
