Interstice housing project Group of 4 Design studio IV Prof. Wafaa Nadim

The project aim was building an autonomous, livable, inclusive, futuristic, equitable housing units in Third settlement,New Cairo. The concept of the project started from one element which is lines that we used to form a collage with that tackles the emotional state of people with impairement not only the physical state. The outcome of the collage was a crack and the form went through alot of form transformations till we reached the final form that is evident in the plan & elevation. The elevation cracks are also demonstrated through windows and terraces to allow light and ventillation. We applied the concept also on the site using the greenery and levels to create open public spacces to increase the social capital between the users of the units and creating a quality to the urban space. Our aim was mainly to bridge the gap that the people with impairment have due to inacessbility and giving spaces to increase their social capital and to communicate with each other.

new capital Exhibition for E-cars Group of 4 Design studio III Prof. Thomas Loeffler

The integrated project combining both the construction and design in one project aim was to design a technology center for E-cars in the New Capital in New Cairo.where there's spaces for the cars to be exhibited and get a full experience of the E-cars. The concept of the project was inspired from the form of the car to emphasise the speed and the movement. The challenge concerning the structure was the 45 meter cantilever facing the street to be stable without affecting the form. The building is divided into two the part sticking to the ground is mainly for the services of the users, while the cantilever is the car exhibition with platforms of different levels for users to have a promanade and journey inside the exhibition. The car track takes the usersto their seats that is on different levels (Topography) to have different views to the track and the green river that to be constructed in the New Capital. The building is full of technological aspects to save energy and become more sustainable, the elevation is extruded for shading and the thermal comfort of the spaces.

Old Cairo Housing apartment Group of 2 Design studio I Prof. Moataz Samir

The project is located near the Cairo citadel. Next to one of the most important landmarks in old cairo , the plot was divided into 10 plots each had a different view to the citadel. Each group created a story board that the house concept came from and expresses an idea or a an experience inside the house Our main concept was providing a house for a family whose one memeber is impaired providing a diverse circulations within the house while allowing light & ventillation entering the house & having a promande at each different space inrespect to the surronding context which is rich of historical surrondings. The ground floor was commercial to create a communicative space with the surrondings and it was related to the owner’s profession which was an atelier. The design was mainly inspired by villa savoye by Le-corbusier

Manhattan, New york Via57 Modelling Group of 4 Cad/Cam III Prof. Mohamed Rafaat

The project Via 57 West was modelled using Rhino and rendered using V-ray for rhino . The bilding is the first project designed in North America by the Danish Architecture firm " BIG-Bjarak Ingels Group".It is considered an anchor of 57 west residential block, as the design is considered a unique combination between European perimeter block and a traditional Manhattan highrise consisting of 709 residences, majority wit terracies and balconies. The centerpiece of VIA57 WEST'S unique design is the VIA garden that opens to the Hudson river. The courtyard is aprivate space for residents but still mainting visual connection to the outside. The main concept is expanding views and bringing the low westren sun deeply into the block, acieved by lifting the north east portion of the mass.

Form Transformation

57 West is an attempt to continue the urban transformation in the city with the green parks and the Hudson river waterfront, the building is surronded by streets from all sides.

A rectangular box was removed from each side of the building's block to form a courtyard inside a private space for residents while still having visual connections with the outside.

The lower levels of VIA have a strong relationship to the courtyard with commercial programs at the street level. The whole building is constructed around the courtyard to create a strong physical and visual connection between the interior and exterior communal spaces.

The slope of the building allows the transition in scale between the low rise structures to the south and the high rise residential at the North and West of the site.

The outer skin of the building facades shows pattern of fishbone. Each apartment has a window or a balcony to get the maximum view possible and brings the low Westren sun deep into the block.

The exploded axonometric showing the layers of buildings and all the facades.

Rome , Italy Tempietto Modelling Individual Cad/Cam III Prof. Mohamed Rafaat

The project was reviving the historical architecture by modelling them in 3D using Rhino . The Model is the Tempietto',San Pietro,Rome,Italy, which is part of the Renaissance era which is a European architecture movement period between the early 14th and early 17th centuries. "Renaissance" means re-birth,this movement marks a concious revival & development of certain elemnts in the Greek & Roman Architecture. The Tempietto is a small temple marking the place of st.-Peter's martyrdorm , built by Donato Bramante in the courtyard of San Pietro church in Rome,Italy. Renaissance architects deployed classical features & pure geometric forms to create certain impression pf symmetry, proportion,&geomtry.Buildings used to feature rounded arches ,domes, triangular pediments & classicak columns,The building's main parts are based on regular geomtric solids emphasizing the harmony of proportions, the simplicity of volume and use of the doric order in columns.Inspired by ancient temples the tempietto is both homage to antiquity & a christian memorial.

Rome , Italy Tempietto Modelling Individual 3d Max Course

The project was Desiging an interior space inspired by a chosen architectural style by modelling them in 3D using 3d Max. The interior design was inspired from the classical style integrating it with a bit of modern style to combine two different tastes to the space. The space was divided into a living room with an open dining room next to it. The colors and the materials used were elegantly chosed to fit the style. The black color was the dominant color in the furniture mixing it with a touch of gold to resemble the classic style. A mirror was used to give the illusion of having a bigger space. Gold ornaments with the table were used to express the classical style. The tree stand is part of the interior design to introduce a fresh natural style to the space.
