Her name was Elizabeth Chapman of East Haddam. She was married to Abraham Waterhouse (my grandfather) June 19th, 1760. This spread she spun wove bleached and embroidered as part of her wedding outfit. My mother kept it a long time, sister E was named for her and she wore a pretty ring she gave her for the name.”; along with two long narrow embroidered panels. framed fragment: 9 3/4” x 39 1/2”.
