POINT 1 location: between residential area and sauna. functions: recognizable land mark and main entrance to the future park along the sea; pic-nic area for people living in the neighbourhood and turists who will pass by; a spot where relaxing and enjoy outdoor life. design choices: free composition of elements to suggest informal meetings; landmark objects whose out of ordinary shape should become an identifiable sign for the area; ordinary fix equipments, such as, tables and benches, together with movable chairs present different possibilities of composition in order to make possible the personalization of it and the specific characterization of each area; friendly environment would create a sense of belonging to that place and stimulate a more respectful behavior towards it.

POINT 2 location: half way between sauna and the market. functions: recognizable land mark; shelter for enjoying the landscape and the view of the sea proteced from rain and wind; a spot where relaxing and being alone or more in contact with nature even in the urban context; design choices: free composition of elements in order to create a more “natural� aggregations and built landscape; landmark objects to be visible also from ships; identifiable signs for the area.

POINT 3 location: close to the harbor where there is the water bus to Helsinki center. functions: recognizable land mark; a spot where relaxing, waiting for ship buses, having a snack. design choices: free composition of elements to create a more “natural� aggregations and built landscape; landmark objects to be visible also from ships; identifiable signs for the area; The big dimensions of the area need elements that do not disappear in the vast land. The crystal shapes want to fulfil both the need of having something visible even in a large scale and the human comfort. During night time they will turn into bright lights, shimmering in the dark and reflected by the sea.

POINT 4 location: market square functions: point where relaxing, taking a rest during shopping and eating something; they would serve both turists and people of the neighbourhood. design choices: free compositions of elements to suggest informal meetings. elements to support communication or information panels. the free form of the aggregations will soften the rigid grid of containers without obstructing the circulation between them.

POINT 5 location: close to the cruise harbor, bus and taxi stop. functions: gate to the city; point where it is possible to gather in groups, sitting while consulting maps or guidebooks, orientating respect the city. The equipments would serve especially turists arriving from cruises. design choices: free compositions of elements in order to soften the rigid industrial area; creation of a friendly environment to welcome people; elements to support communication or information panels and meanwhile indicating where to go.

TABLES AND CHAIRS function: sitting place for one person, table for three or more people according to the aggregation of the module. landmark: the tables and the chairs can assume many shapes depending on the place: a blooming flower where each petal is a table and a chair, or a withered flower that looses its petals making long jagged shapes. main constructive features: the tables and the chairs are made by LVL panels connected together through metal plates and wooden dowels. On the top of the panels, the timber splints contribute to stiffen the elements through screws or nails connections.

FLOWERS function: sitting place for twelve people, in group of two; elements to support the advertising panels, artistic contests, writings. landmark: the flowers mark the spaces, making a reference point for people. Because of the large dimensions, and the possibility of installing an inner light, the flower could be visible from a distance, creating together with the shelters stunning night landscapes. main constructive features: the flowers are made by LVL panels connected through metal plates and wooden dowels. A timber frame connects the elements together with screw or nails. The sittings and part of the vertical surfaces are made by timber splints screwed to the frame, they work as connection element for each couple of surfaces, making the base module of the flower.

SHELTERS function: shelter and sitting place for two people; turning according to wind direction. landmark: sails on the ground, light spot during dark time. main constructive features: The shelter is meant to be a light wooden structure connected to a concrete base through a rotating steel joint. The shelter will be composed by three lower LVL panels connected together through metal plates and wooden dowels. These panels allow the installation of the sittings and bear the upper timber frame for the assembly of coloured polycarbonate sheets. The rotation of the shelter will be provided by a thrust bearing connected with bolts on the LVL floor panel and to the ground through concrete foundations.

BENCHES function: sitting place for two or more people according to the composition of the modules. landmark: thanks to the module, the benches can be assembled in many ways depending on the place: a long snake that changes its shape by drawing smooth lines on the site. main constructive features: the benches are made by two LVL boards connected in the corner through metal plates and wooden dowels. Sittings are composed by timber splints connected to the LVL panels through screws or nails.
