The Beginning

Queen was formed in the year 1970. Brain May and Roger Taylor was already in a group called smile and Freddie Mercury was a fan of their music. Freedie later joined the band after suggesting different things that could make them better. the fourth member, John Deacon, also joined later on. The name changed to Queen later because Freddie thought it would be a good choice.

How They Became One Of The Greatest â—?

They became one of the greatest because their music was really good. They had a variety of music that people really like. Most of their songs are memorable. With the weird flavor they offered, new ideas and the new sounds they were able to show people that you can make whatever you want to sound good. They also opened people minds to new ways of making music, example would be the fun time of songs.


A Night at the Opera A Night at the Opera was the fourth studio album by the band Queen, being one of their most iconic works. This album received contemporary mixed reviews from critics, but they praised its production and the diverse musical themes, as well as recognizing how popular Queen became.

In 1977, it received two Grammy nominations for Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Duo, Group or Chorus and Best Arrangement for Voices.


“Bohemian Rhapsody� Bohemian Rhapsody, a film aired in 2018 was a celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury.

This song features an elaborate opera sequence dominated by multi-tracked vocals. Although, this song brought upon critical reviews initially, it became immensely popular, topping charts worldwide and is widely regarded as one of the most significant rock songs in history.


Death of Freddie Mercury

On the evening of November 24th, 1991, Freddie Mercury passed away at the age of 45. The day before his death he publicly announced that he was HIV positive. He had been diagnosed as HIV positive two years earlier but tried to keep his illness a secret from the press. After his diagnosis, he continued to record and perform music. His death quickly made international headlines.

Freddie Mercury’s funeral took place on the date of November 27th, 1991. 35 to 40 people attended the ceremony; this included Mercury’s parents, Mercury’s Queen bandmates, Elton John, and other close friends of Mercury. Mercury was cremated, and his ashes were buried in an unknown location by his first wife and very close friend Mary Austin.

In present day time, Freddie Mercury continues to be loved by many all over the world. Because of Mercury’s long lasting legacy, he has been and continues to be the subject of various films and books, with the 2018 critically acclaimed film Bohemian Rhapsody being the most recent production focusing on Mercury and Queen’s success and legacy.
