PROBLEM & SOLUTION There is a rise in the number of stray cats that are being abused. Researches shown from articles that the cat abuse cases are rising. Most of the cats being abused are stray/community cats. In order to solve the problem, we want to promote a campaign to get people to adopt these stray cats to help save their lives as well as change their lives for the better. Campaign “ PURRRFECT PAL “ is a trial adoption for a week to train potential cat owners as well as help them feel more prepared and assured if they are ready to commit to the cat. This campaign aims to lower the cases the abuse of cats (stray ones) if more people adopt these stray cats. Future adoptees will choose a cat that they prefer and contact the foster of the chosen cat. A fee of $10 is charged with a contract to be agreed upon before trial adoption of the cat. A week supply of food, cat litter and basic grooming supplies will be provided for free. Adoptee will be briefed by the foster on what to do and how to take care of the cat and its safety. After the trial, adoptee can decide if they want to adopt permanently. During the process, adoptee needs to pay remaining amount of adoption fee which may be set higher if the cat needs extra medical attention or treatment as well as sterilisation. House visits once every 2 months during the first 6 months after adopting will be conducted to ensure the cat is safe and living well. Adoptee can return the cat if they do not wish to continue to adopt. He/she can contact the foster to return the cat as well as the supplies provided.


CLIENT Cat Welfare Society is a charity organisation founded in 1999. The organization is run by volunteers who desire to improve welfare of community cats in Singapore.

Their aim is to advocate humane management of community cats through sterilization to prevent overpopulation of cats. They believes that by working with volunteers,HDB,NEA,town councils & management committees, they can bring down the cat population in an effective way. Their mission is ‘To save lives through sterilization’ & ‘aging lives through enriching minds’. They received an award - Animals Asia Welfare Award 2011 for outstanding contribution to a community-based programme or campaign. AIMS: - promote tolerance,kindness & respect towards cats and other living creatures - promote sterilization as opposed to culling (putting cats to sleep) -promote responsible pet ownership & management of community cats -increase awareness of the state of cats living in the streets of Singapore & stop ignorance through education PROBLEM: Previous records shows that 27 cats are killed every day. Currently, 35 cats are killed every day. They want to help to alleviate the suffering & stop cats from being killed so they want to stop overpopulation of cats through sterilization. However, need funds and resources to channel towards stopping the breeding (sterilization). Why? More cats in better health, fewer complaints & annoyances thus, better living environment. WHAT THEY DO: - educational programmes through school outreaches - public roadshows to educate public - public adoption board where they post pictures of stray cats to put up for adoption - they do lost & found cats where owners can post their cat’s photo if it went missing - special appeals where photos of injured cats or cats that seeks urgent medication will be put up for donations. TARGET AUDIENCE Target audience is mainly all especially the cat lovers and people ranging from the age 20s to 50s. They seem more financially stable and suitable for the campaign and all the decisions are in their hands. These adults might have more time to commit to pets as compared to teenagers. Also, they do not need the permissions of their parents or rely on them for decisions.

DESIGN THEME Our design theme is aimed to be professional and easy to visually take in information. Our website is photography based with a few minimal illustrations. We used visuals with words to make it easier for users to understand. Also, by doing this, it captivates the users and does not cause them to lose focus or feel overwhelmed by the amount of text there is on the screen. We used the colours, white, black and orange mainly in our website. This gives off a professional but not too serious feel as it gives off a friendly vibe to make users feel welcomed.
