Hekani meets union ministers with proposals

DIMAPUR: Advisor of Industries and Commerce Department, Hekani Jakhalu called on Union Minister of MSME Narayan Tatu Rane and Union Minister of State MSME, Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma in New Delhi on May 17.

According to DIPR report, at the meeting, various issues of MSME sector and growth potentials in the State were deliberated. Hekani also submitted a number of proposals that would help to promote and improve the MSME landscape in the State.

She also called on the Development Commissioner (Handloom & Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, and solicited support for the promotion of the sector in the State. At a meeting with the Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Pashupati Kumar Paras, Hekani said that food processing was one of the potential and thrust areas in the state where development can be brought about.

Therefore, she urged the Union Minister to consider and support the various upcoming project proposals of the State which will be placed before the Ministry. The Union Minister also in confirmation encouraged the State to submit proposals on projects available under the Ministry and assured approvals.

In addition, the Union Minister disclosed that the Ministry will soon be launching new schemes for Mini-Food Park for which the State may look forward to availing such assistance.

The advisor also met Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) G Kishan Reddy regarding the prospects and opportunities in the North Eastern Region and Nagaland in particular. They discussed the Economic Road Map of the department and the state.

The advisor was accompanied by Commissioner and Secretary, Kekhrievor Kevichusa, director A Temjen Jamir and a team of officials from the department of Industries & Commerce.

DIMAPUR: Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) Longmatra Block launched the digital transaction at gram panchayat level campaign under Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 2. 0 at Tethuyo village under Longmatra Block on May 19.

Speaking at the launch event, Kuramong AC, FI, Longmatra Block informed that the campaign was national movement to promote digital transaction and to provide financial services at the door step.

He said that in order to facilitate women SHG’s in accessing banking services, BC Sakhi from the village has been deputed by the NSRLM. He therefore encouraged everyone to avail the services provided by BC Sakhi.

He also highlighted on the various social security schemes such as PMJJBY, PMSBY etc and Health Insurance schemes like PMJAY and CMHIS provided

BC Sakhi from Tethuyo village, Florence informed to the villagers to approach her for any type of bank transaction and enrolment for various social security schemes provided by the Government. She said that they don’t need to travel to bank for accessing individual Bank related transaction.

Earlier, SHG member, Mary invoked God’s blessings while Kurakmong AcFI chaired the programme and introduced BC Sakhi to the participants. Transaction and enrolment drive was held right after the programme.
