DIMAPUR: The voting on postal ballot in Nagaland began on Monday. In Kohima, polling personnel, police personnel and others drafted in election duty for the ensuing general election cast their vote through postal ballot.

The facilitation centre for the government drivers requisitioned for election duty was at DB’s Court, DC office Kohima, 10th IRB personnel at 10th IRB camp Zadima and 4th NAP at 4th NAP camp, Thizama.

On Tuesday, facilitation centre for Police Headquarters was held at PHQ Kohima for DEF, Home Guards, Fire & Emergency Service, C/Coy 13 (IR) Yajang and NAP Rangers, 6th NAP Tizit, the facilitation centre at SP office Kohima and the facilitation centre for E/Coy 10th (IR) Zadima at Khuzama T.B. Hospital. The casting of postal ballots will commence from 9 am till 4 pm.

CHUMOUKEDIMA: The voting on postal ballot for preventive detention and 7th NAP (IR) D.Coy was held at Chumoukedima.

Dimapur Police recover unidentified bodies

DIMAPUR: Dimapur Police has recovered unidentified bodies on February 19 and 20 respectively in Dimapur.

AASU calls off common platform for 4 Ghaspani-I

DIMAPUR: In reference to the letter received from the office of Aghunaqa Area GBs Association on February 19, AASU has called off the common platform speech programme organized for the 4th Ghaspani-I intending candidates which was scheduled to be held on February 22 at Aghunaqa Hq. A press release from AASU president, Ikato Khulu and general secretary Angukato Awomi have regretted for the inconvenience caused to the general public.

T.N. Mannen: Starting the programme from Khanimo village, the intending candidate covered his native Longjang, followed by Longpa village, Kubolong town and Chami village. He spoke about his visions and shared his dream for the upliftment of the constituency which has been relatively remained neglected for more than two decades. Various officials from both NDPP and BJP parties of Mokokchung district as well as from NDPP central office attended and spoke at the programme.

Kitoho S. Rotokha: Addressing the gathering at Medziphema Town, local ground, Kitoho S. Rotokha said LJP has 16 strong candidates and expressed confidence that minimum 10 candidates will be elected.

He acknowledged his supporters for firmly standing and supporting him for the right job, regardless of the circumstances.

Rotokha said that he was standing for change and that in order to bring about change, he required the support of everyone.

Rotokha further claimed that LJP will play a crucial rule in forming the government as there are a natural allied of NDA government in the centre.

Temjenmenba: Delivering his speech at Khar village, Temjenmenba highlighted his vision to constitute a development committee in every village for the welfare and development of the villages and develop a fund for the pension of every ex-village councilor.

Aokong colony, DVC, MCC Purana Bazar adopt resolutions for election

DIMAPUR: Aokong colony and Darogajan Village Council (DVC) and Model Colony Council Purana Bazaar, East Dimapur have adopted resolutions for the ensuing 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections 2023.

A press release issued by Aokong colony chairman, Imtiyanger has informed the general public that the colony executive during its meeting on February 17 have resolved various points in regard to the upcoming elections within its jurisdiction. The colony resolved that no outsider will be allowed to cast their vote in any of the polling stations within the colony. No personal will be allowed to cast their vote if their names are not listed in the electoral roll.

It informed that the colony council will take appropriate action to those person going against the above-mentioned resolutions.

DVC: Darogajan Village Council (DVC) in its joint meeting between GBs, VCMs and VDB on February 21 resolved to conduct free and fair election in the upcoming general election. MCC Purana Bazar: Model Colony Council Purana Bazaar East Dimapur held its executive meeting on February 16 and adopted resolutions pertaining to the ensuing general election.

A press release by general secretary, MCCPBED Rensuthung Lotha informed that, no outsiders of any political parties will be allowed to set up youth camp within its jurisdiction, only colony members who have their names in the E-roll and officials will be allowed on the polling day. It also resolved that any person under the influence of alcohol creating disturbances within the colony will be solely responsible for the misconduct and will be produced before the council; any political parties giving any kind of mistreatment to colony members or families, the concerned candidates will be solely held responsible. It further warned that any colony members or outsiders who are are found not adhering to the set rules and regulations laid by the council, will be strictly dealt.
