NEISSR organises skills building for social workers

DIMAPUR: North East Institute Of Social Science & Research (NEISSR), Dimapur organised a two-day, skills building for social workers at Peace Center, Chumoukedima from January 20 to 21. 113 social work students along with faculty members of NEISSR attended the program.

The orientation program was conducted by Dr. Jonas Richard A, Director, Centre for Life Skills Education (CLSE), Kristu Jayanti College, Bengaluru.

DIMAPUR: A three-day, Spiritual Awakening Programme under the theme “The Born Identity” was organised by Razeba Range Baptist Church Youth Department(RRBCYD) from January 27-29 at Razeba Town Baptist church. The programme was attended by members from four villages namely Zhavame, Zelome, Tsiipfume and Razeba. DC Kohima cautions footpath encroachers

DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner Kohima has prohibited storage and stockpiling, stacking, and placing of materials or goods by shops and business establishments on public footpaths permanent or temporary in and around Kohima town.

DC issued the order as many road-adjacent shops in Kohima dealing with construction materials, tyres, vehicle repair workshops, Timber & Bamboo, Iron fabrication, Clothing, and accessories, etc. have encroached upon public footpaths by placing; storing; stacking, and stocking their products and goods on the public footpaths and railings.

In this connection, DC warned that necessary action will be initiated against defaulters under Control of National Highways (Land & Traffic) Act, 2002” and Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants Act, 1971”.

Online registration for JNV selection

DIMAPUR: Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung District, Shashank Pratap Singh has informed all concerned that the registration for the selection test to Class VI (Six) of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) will be done through Online Portal for which the link will be available on the

NVS website www.navodaya.gov.in.

The last date to apply will be January 31, 2023 and the selection test for the session 2023-2024 will be conducted on April 29. In this connection, DC has asked all concerned to take note of the registration and selection test dates.

Nangba Konyak in the closing service exhorted the delegates to live their life’s purpose, and walked away from corrupted lifestyle. A total of 280 delegates consisting of youth and church leaders registered for the Spiritual Awakening Programme.

In a press release, NEISSR Desk informed that Dr. Jonas in his presentation spoke on the 21st century skills such as soft skills, technical skills and professional skills. He also stressed on the importance of having the rights skills and attitude to become a successful social worker.

Engagement(CHRISTE)

and convener of Splendor Project, Malaysia also gave a lecture on the importance of dialogue and a requisite skill for peace building. He said the world needs peace makers rather than peace keeper. He also spoke about the various dimensions of dialogue and the importance of adopting inclusive dialogue that affirms and give space to understand and include different set of ideologies, faith and beliefs in a pluralistic society.

Earlier, at the opening ceremony, Dr. Fr. C.P. Anto principal NEISSR talked about the importance of imparting soft skills, and churning education for more mindfulness that was aimed to make students more humane.

During the orientation program, students also had the opportunity to take part in group activities and discussions. Effective communication skills and problem solving skills were imparted to enhance the quality of life. The orientation program concluded with a valedictory note by Rev. Fr.
