Our charity partner Diversity Role Models

INTRODUCING OUR NEW CHARITY PARTNER FOR 2020/21 AS CHOSEN BY OUR PRESIDENT, RUTH DAVIES

Each year NAHT’s president chooses our charity partner. This year Ruth Davies has selected Diversity Role Models (DRM) who we’re excited to be supporting.

DRM has a vision of a world where everyone embraces diversity and can thrive. Through highquality education and role model storytelling, DRM embed inclusion in schools and build empathy in young people. Working in primary and secondary schools in the UK, mainly in England, students are given a unique opportunity to hear personal lived experience of LGBT+ or ally role models and ask questions in person and in a safe space: their own classrooms. NAHT president, Ruth Davies, said: “As 21st century school leaders, we believe that inclusion is what successful, safe communities are about. Every learner needs to know what it feels like to be valued and of equal worth.

We’re delighted to have the chance to pursue this critical message, in partnership with Diversity Role Models, within learning settings across our three nations. As a rights respecting organisation, NAHT wholeheartedly supports DRM's core beliefs, not just because the law says we have to but because it's the right thing to do."
