About Us Naiise.com is a Singapore-based, curated online destination for design products from around the world. We believe design adds value to our lives, and built Naiise as a place where everyone can access good design.

An inspirational place to discover great designs from around the world.

An engaging place where you can read about our designers and their crafts

Our Philosophy We believe that design is simple, beautiful, delightful and functional, and can be for everybody. It isn’t the high-brow or alienating concept some people think it is.

!

Through our website, products and various touch-points, we aim to make design accessible and relevant to an average person, and help more people experience design for themselves.

!

Our biggest goal is to nurture a design-aware community that wants to live meaningfully with design.

A relevant place where people you relate to curate and speak about design.

An enjoyable place where browsing and shopping is made easy and clean.

We created Naiise with a simple goal: to better people’s lives with design.

Our Story Naiise is the brainchild and result of the commitment and drive of its founder, Dennis. Having run a creative agency, Dennis loves design, and believes design adds value to our lives.

With the aim of making design accessible to more people, he founded Naiise in Jan 2013 and brought on design products that the average people could relate to - a t-shirt, a beautiful set of tableware and even night lamps.

Our website was kept simple, clean and content-driven to encourage browsing and discovery. This was a response to a landscape of cluttered ecommerce sites that focused mainly on sales and deals.

But he recognised a void: not many people understood design. It was perceived as high-brow or alienating.

We worked hard to convey the value of each design, and pioneered conversations with designers and curators.

At Naiise, our unwavering goal is to encourage mindful living through design, making design accessible to everybody.

Amanda Eng Marketing Director

If he weren’t an entrepreneur, he’d been a hippie. But Dennis ended up founding several businesses, including a creative agency which shaped his love for design. In January 2013, he established Naiise and ran it by himself for 10 months. Dennis is a dreamer and hopes to build up Asia’s largest online design marketplace while nurturing a design-aware society.

Amanda hails from a banking, background but left after 2 years to explore more fulfilling options. In December 2013, she joined Naiise, after spending a year as Marketing Director for ZALORA. She hopes to leverage her experience to build more brand awareness for Naiise, its strategic partners and the brands and designers that inspire her daily.

In 1.5 years, we’ve built a true design platform with more than 250 partners and 4,500+ products online…

… Across furniture, lighting, home accessories, kitchenware, office accessories, fashion and food.

Making Design Accessible Online And In Singapore

We partner established design retail brands like Georg Jensen and Danish Design Co to make their products accessible online.

!

We were also selected to be the first online retailer worldwide for Georg Jensen.

We introduced lifestyle brands like Lazerwood (real wood gadget skins) and Ole Jensen to Singapore for the first time, thus making design truly accessible.

Shining The Spotlight on Local and Emerging Designers

One of our most popular sections is “Go Local, a growing section that showcases unique, locally designed and made brands like FARM, Democratic Society and Wheniwasfour.

We are passionate about discovering local emerging designers and giving them a platform to showcase their works.

!

We successfully launched young local designers, such as Lee Xin Li and Shu Han Lee, into the media spotlight and into the minds of average consumers.

Extending Our Designers’ Brand, Reach And Capabilities

We believe in building long-term and close relationships with our designers, and helping them strengthen their brand value.

!

We do not work on a flash model for this reason - we believe design should be adopted based on appreciation, and not on discounts.

We act as their marketing and distribution arms as well. We have proven success in helping newlylaunched brands achieve strong media coverage.

We want a nurture a community of people that live meaningfully with design.

Creating Conversations That Make Design Relevant

We regularly hold interviews with our designers on our blog to share their design thinking and processes with our audiences.

Each week, we invite guest curators to curate products based on a theme and speak about design that is relevant to their audiences.

Creating Experiences That Help People Engage With Design In Feb-March 2014, we hosted our first pop up store in collaboration with Edible Gardens, a local movement that promotes urban farming.

!

We curated a mix of sustainably produced and locally designed products to promote meaningful living and sustainable design, as well as shine a spotlight on our local designers.

We were also part of Singapore Design Week’s Creative Circuits, where we hosted conversations with our founder, a public chalkboard wall installation and letterpress printing sessions with our designers.

We design unique spaces and experiences that help people discover good design.

Creating Experiences That Help People Engage With Design In June 2014, we held our second pop-up store at the industrial Jalan Besar neighbourhood, as part of a new project to activate unused spaces, in collaboration with Shophouse & Co.

A common thread linking all of our pop-up stores are our desire to use design to create memorable experiences that help people relate to, and access, design more easily.

Using industrial furniture and D-I-Y industrial projects, we designed a retail space that featured our local designers and drew healthy crowds on the weekends.

We have build up a reputation for designing unique pop-up concepts that create value for our stakeholders and partners, and capable of garnering strong traction in the media and on social media.

!

!

In August 2014, we held our third and largest pop-up store, The Design Supermarket, at Orchard Centre, spanning 300 sqm.

!

The Design Supermarket was designed to show people that design is for everyday use, and can be accessed easily, and on a daily basis - just like a supermarket that everyone can relate to.

We aim to show people the simplicity and accessibility of good designs.

Expanding Our Verticals To Make Design For Everyone

We are continuously working to expand our verticals to make design truly for everyone.

!

In April 2014, we launched our new Food section, featuring locally made food products from small-scale local producers such as GSH Conserves, The Edible Co and MOFO CHILI.

We decided to launch this section to support local food makers who, like the designers on Naiise, create products that add value to people’s lives.

Expanding Our Verticals To Make Design For Everyone

In September 2014, we launched our new Kids section, featuring homegrown brands such as CAVALIER and Sibeynostalgic, alongside international designers.

Through the launch of this new section, we hope to encourage parents to expose their children to design early in their childhood, while making design truly for everyone - even our little ones.
