Voces de los Andes "Voces de los Andes" (Voices of the Andes) was formed in the summer of 2005 when members of the St. Patrick Spanish Music Ministry came together to keep their tradition and music alive in RI. Voces de los Andes plays both Andean instrumental, vocal music and Christian contemporary music. As an ambassador of Andean music; Voces de los Andes has performed at different ethnic and community festivals like the Colombian and Bolivian festivals, museum and libraries as well as city and neighborhood cultural and ethnic events.

MarĂ­a Cecilia Cano/ Colombia in RI

Colombia in Rhode Island is a group dedicated to perform a variety of traditional and modern choreography of the folklore of Colombia. The group’s young adult members combine grace, history and tradition in their performances, therefore representing the African, Indigenous and European elements of the Colombian culture.

Varsobia Gallegos/Venezuela in RI Venezuela in RI works to keep their language, music and customs alive through exhibitions, food, dance and lectures. The purpose is to teach other cultures our traditions and customs and to keep the love of our traditions alive for new generations. The performer will be dancing a "Potpourri of Ritmos Latinos" CUMBIA, MAMBO, SALSA, JOROPO VENEZOLANO. The group celebrated the diversity of our cultures through their great Latin rhythms. EASTERN MEDICINE SINGERS

An Algonquin Drum Group from Providence RI. The Eastern Medicine Singers are dedicated to keeping the eastern woodlands Native American culture alive. The drum is made up of RI, NY, NJ & Southeastern Massachusetts Tribes. We are proud to sing and drum in the language of Massachusett & Wampanoag dialect. We thank elder speakers of the language both past and present for their help. We honor Clinton Lightning Foot Wixon, Donald Three Bears Fisher and Julieann Jennings, all speakers of our language. New Inca Son

New Inca Son is a band with a mission: to preserve its indigenous heritage and to instill, particularly in children and young people, an understanding and appreciation of it. As such, our artists both perform and educate, offering hands-on workshops, interactive concerts, and residencies for students in schools, colleges, libraries, and performing arts centers nationwide. As recognition for its educational work, the band has earned the 2007 "Distinguished Arts Educator in Music" award from the Massachusetts Alliance for Arts Education (MAAE) and 2009 "Gold Star Award," Mass Cultural Council. Rhode Island Bolivian American Association The Rhode Island Bolivian-American Association is a non-profit entity incepted in 2006 by a group of Bolivian residents in our State. Lydia Perez

Lydia Perez is the founder and CEO of the Puerto Rican Institute for Arts and Advocacy, Inc., State of Rhode Island. She and her daughters Yidell and Dorothy are a providers of Afro-Caribbean Arts Programs in New England. Her group "Yoruba2 ", present traditional music and dance from Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. The group includes such known genres as 'bomba", plena', poems with drums and other rhythms. Lydia performs and teaches music that is in her "blood and spirit". Phoenix Performing Arts The Phoenix Performing Arts, located in Hartford, Connecticut, is a vibrant and dynamic dancing troupe which is committed to deliver a premier quality of dancing and music to serve our communities. Christopher Johnson Christopher Johnson is a Providence resident spoken word artist with over thirteen years teaching experience in the art of Spoken Word. Christopher has performed up and down the Eastern Sea Board as well as throughout the Midwest for over 15 years. It has been said that Christopher’s Johnson’s work “accurately captures the heart rending portrayal of urban life...in all of its ugly glory, with a sense of a hope for a better future.” Since winning the national Spoken word Competition “Famecast.com” Christopher’s work is now focused on the betterment of the quality of life of all those he comes in contact with. https://www.gigmasters.com/spoken-word-artist/christopher-johnson

Carlos de León Carlos de Leon is a composer, arranger, band leader, vocalist with 45 years of experience in the Latin Music field. At present performing with his multi-national music group, Mr. de Leon does all the arrangements, which combine Latin Jazz, Salsa, Son, Merengue, Cumbias from around Latin America and the Caribbean. Grupo Folklorico Mexicano Xochiquetzal The word Xochiquetzal in the Nahuatl language is “Honor the God of the Flowers.” Martha Monroy founded the company in 2003 and chose that name from one of the first dances the group performed, “Alegria de Xochiquetzal” or happiness for the God of the Flowers. And when the group was created the majority of their performances were in New Jersey, known as the Garden State. Originally from Mexico, Martha Monroy leads the group and performs with her two daughters, Brenda, and Marilyn, and other members of the community. They now reside in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. Monroy has a full schedule of teaching and organizing performances. Xochiquetzal performs at schools and various community events like Cinco de Mayo, Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15-October 15, and this includes special events for Mexican Independence Day on September 15th. As a recent grant recipient of the Preserving Diverse Cultures program from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts its goal is to represent the Mexican culture through music and dance. The Laotian Cultural Center Dancers The Laotian Community Center of RI preserves and promotes awareness of traditional Lao arts, culture, education, leadership and community service. The dance team will present a rich and colorful performance that tells stories of their culture. LCC helps youth foster a closer relationship to Lao culture and learn traditional ways of Lao customs, dance, posture, balance, poise gestures, cultural clothing and teamwork.

Bisi Kolawole Bisi was born and raised at Ile-Ife, South-West of Nigeria. He studied Theater Arts and English at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria, and the University of Rhode Island, Kingston, RI. Sokeo Ros Sokeo Ros is artistic director/choreographer of Case Closed! a youth hip hop dance company. He is also a member of Everett: company, yage and school. He is director of the hip hop dance program at Everett as well. Sokeo has been performing since the age of 15 and started touring and teaching at the age of 18.
