WATCH OUR VIDEO

When we started to look at schools, NCC stood out above the rest. From the moment we arrived at NCC, we were impressed. We chose NCC not only for its academic excellence but also because it embraces and reinforces our family’s Christian values. The nurturing environment and passionate staff have played a vital role in our son’s spiritual and moral development.

Stefan & Charlene Bekker

Valuing what matters most.

We believe we understand what parents, pupils, staff, and community value and deliver this in line with our mission, Christian beliefs and educational philosophy. In everything we at NCC do, there are three things that we value the most – Security. Support. Success. Our students are encouraged to pursue excellence and reach their full potential in a high challenge – high care environment.

Security. Support. Success.

NCC provides what families value.

A CULTURE GUIDED BY CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES THAT FOSTERS CARE AND SUPPORT FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL WHILE NURTURING CHILDREN ON THEIR EDUCATIONAL PATH.

Undeniably at NCC, we are guided by Christian values and Christ’s teachings for all people within our community. We believe that the Bible is inspired by God and serves as a guide for our lives and relationships. Our school life is based on a biblical framework that informs every aspect of our curriculum, pastoral care, and community service programs.

With our educational philosophy, we believe strongly in the broader purposes of education, which include the economic as well as the development of the whole person – a “holistic” education. This extends to providing a moral and spiritual education that explores Christian teachings and faith. For us, a ‘well-schooled’ young adult will be:

• a person of good character,

• socially well-connected,

• keeping healthy habits,

• possessing substantial knowledge and know-how to learn and

• wise

Meet the NCC School Captains.

WITH PASSION, PRIDE, AND UNWAVERING DEDICATION, OUR SCHOOL CAPTAINS EXEMPLIFY SERVICE AND LEADERSHIP WITHIN THEIR COMMUNITIES.

HEAR FROM OUR SCHOOL CAPTAINS

We understand that well-being is a multifaceted concept that encompasses various dimensions of our lives.

At our school, every staff member is dedicated to ensuring the well-being of our students. We approach well-being through an attachment and interpersonal neurobiological framework, recognising the importance of secure interpersonal relationships and acts of empathy and kindness in fostering a positive learning environment.

We value the quality of relationships within families and the wider community, as they greatly influence our students’ well-being.

Additionally, we embrace the Six Ways of Well-being: Connection, Be Active, Give, Keep Learning, Take Notice, and Explore Faith and in our Junior School we facilitate the Roots of Empathy program which educates both the heart and mind and focusses on the long term to build the capacity of the next generation in responsible citizenship. These principles guide our approach to supporting students in their spiritual, social, cognitive, physical, and emotional development.

Student Wellbing at NCC.

We understand that connection and positive relationships play a significant role in shaping students’ learning experiences and overall comfort. By fostering a sense of belonging and encouraging healthy connections with others, we create an environment where students can flourish academically and personally. We also recognise the importance of working closely with parents and involving them in their children’s well-being journey. We understand and acknowledge that families are integral to the lives of our students and having secure and connected families are the key to wellbeing.

At NCC, our commitment to student well-being extends beyond the classroom to include our assemblies, Applied Christian Studies classes, weekly chapel services, service activities and year-level camps and more. Recognising that we are all interconnected and reliant on one another, prioritising wellbeing, we aim to create a nurturing and empowering environment where students can thrive and reach their full potential.

AT NCC, THE WELL-BEING OF OUR STUDENTS IS AT THE HEART OF EVERYTHING WE DO. WE FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT WELL-BEING IS NOT ONLY NURTURED BY THE GOSPEL AND TEACHINGS OF JESUS CHRIST BUT ALSO BY CREATING A SUPPORTIVE AND INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY.

16 BACK TO CONTENTS

A NCC graduate is confident and compassionate, independently focused yet community oriented. They are optimistic and motivated individuals yet become wonderful contributors and problem solvers in teams, organisations and communities, ultimately making a difference to our world.

Our graduates go on to pursue careers or further study that align with both their values and ambitions. Most of all, they’re great people who ask great questions, listen intently and are happy for others who experience success. They understand the value of their Christian roots at NCC and the connections they’ve established at NCC.
