INSPIRATION In November of 2016, the first Wednesday of the month brought with it the latest addition to the “Ribbon of Jewels,” a collection of riverside parks named for prominent Boise women. Julia Davis, Ann Morrison, Kathryn Albertson, and now, Esther Simplot. The vision for this event made itself apparent when our partners initially stepped foot on the completed park and saw for the first time a landscape they were unused to in the heart of Boise: beaches. Acres of freshwater and beguiling sandy shores beckoning people to take full advantage of the gift graciously provided by the Simplot family. It was all too easy to envision families milling about, swimming, and celebrating in the idyllic setting - the rest is history. Music on the Water is, collectively, a new series of events taking place on three separate dates in the summer months of June, July and August. Each date is set to provide a rotating roster of live music, local food & drink, and enough activities and games to keep both kids and adults entertained all day. With the help of our sponsors we are most excited to present events inspired by, designed for, and made possible by the Boise community. Music on the Water 2017 is the first installment of a celebration we hope to provide for Boise locals for years to come. We seek to honor Esther Simplot and her dedication to the arts, bring together Boise locals in a picturesque setting and, most importantly, benefit the Women’s and Children’s Alliance. The WCA’s mission is to provide “safety, healing and freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault.”1 With over 100 years of history helping women under various organizational names, they have been what we recognize today as the WCA for over 30 years, providing an invaluable service to women, children, and men healing from abuse. All profits raised by Music on the Water will be donated to the WCA. 1”About the WCA.” Women’s and Children’s Alliance. N.p., n.d. Web. 05 May 2017.

WHY PARTNER? Music on the Water has evolved, almost without any outside direction, to position itself as a melodic megaphone to a section of the community too often forgotten when considering “Boise’s community.” The neighborly culture found here - from the Bench, to the North End, to downtown, etc. - is something Boise prides itself on, and for good reason. Go anywhere and ask anyone, the Treasure Valley and its locals are a truly a singular experience. The residents are welcoming, eclectic and inspire in most everyone a true sense of belonging. It is for this reason Music on the Water seeks to gather so many in one place, in a beautiful park, for 3 days this summer: to remind them of a part of their own community often overlooked. The Women’s and Children’s Alliance has been in our community contributing services since 1910. With its mission of providing “Safety, Healing and Freedom from domestic abuse and sexual assault,” they administer assistance to hundreds of adults and children every year. These services include two 24 hour crisis hotlines, safe shelter, counseling, case management and court advocacy all designed to help individuals as they recover from the trauma they have suffered. When we approached them to discuss Music on the Water, their gratitude was evident! All their services are provided at no cost to individuals who need them and they shared that this is only possible because of community support. Working together with them, our goal is to help them further their vision of “fostering a community in which all individuals thrive in safe, healthy relationships.” With three different days dedicated to activities, games, live music and fun for even the smallest of our local residents, 100% of all profits will benefit the Women’s and Children’s Alliance. Help us help them as we work together to make a difference in our community for those who need their services. With the various sponsorship packages available, the heavy foot-traffic of the park itself, and our in-depth print & media strategy, your company’s name will be prominently tied to a fun family event with the knowledge you are truly supporting and helping to change people’s lives.
